What if Adrian played/wrote some of Janick's solos?

I recently saw this amazing video on Youtube, so I decided to create this thread, I would like to know what you guys think about the video, and I would also like to know if you agree that Adrian could play some of Jan's solos live (especially the melodic ones, which are few). Well we know that Janick takes some of Adrian's solos live and I think that, to make the thing more interesting, H could take some of Jan's solos, for example it would be amazing for me hearing Adrian play the FOTD solo live (as the video), and as a die-hard Adrian fan I think that it would be very interesting to see that in the shows, so, feel free to intervene!

On a slight random side note, The Mercenary is the only song where the guitarist who wrote the song gives the solo up to another player. Janick co-wrote the song but Dave and Adrian take the solos.

So if The Mercenary is a Virtual XI leftover, Adrian definitely took a Janick solo.

Well said man! That’s a good example

The song being a leftover doesn't mean the solo was already written. They record them wiihout properly writing them as far as I know, even if Smith tends to be more careful than Murray.

False, Sun and steel was written by Smith/Dickinson and only solo in the song is by Dave.

Ofc he can, the playing will be more melodic and not so fast. Adrian did a good job with Janick's Tattooed Millionaire solo. But they don't play different songs from the 90's and if they do, Janick plays his.

It's not that easy to say which Janick solo would be a good fit for Adrian, but I guess Blood Brothers will be one of them. Slower and melodic.

The version of Fear Of The Dark solo in the clip is cool and right, but so different from the original.

This.
I was about to say that!! Adrian’s solo version in Tattooed Millionaire sounds great, not so fast and not so chaotic, I guess also that other Janick’s solos can be done by Adrian, not only FOTD, for example, as you said Blood Brothers, I think that Wasting Love would be another one that would sound great in Adrian’s flawless style.

I did like Adrains solos however he has got a bit predictable over the years. He had 3 or 4 phrasing he uses on most solos
Like any (classic) guitarists, right. I wouldn't say that about Adrian, he always finds a way to make his solos interesting. The latest album is a good example.

Each player has there own styles and some are one trick ponies, however some do get more repetative than others and i think Adrian falls into that catergory. However not to say i dont enjoy a lot of his solos.

I'd say Adrian has become much more experimental recently. From tremolo flutters during the end of Senjutsu to playing slide on Death Or Glory and Senjutsu. Also there is a lot of interesting phrasing. Live performances of Running by Smith/Kotzen are a good example.

I've always thought that a couple of Janick's "Blaze era" solos are relatively Adriany, mainly Lord of the Flies & Como Estais Amigos, and I could totally see Adrian doing a very interesting takes on them. Like, they aren't super complex of course, but bit of a H-flavour would fit them well.

Absolutely agree, I think that some NPFTD and FOTD solos can also be done by Adrian, but very few of them, for example Fates Warning and Fear is the Key, other solo from The X Factor for example would be 2 A.M
