People don't shit enough on these covers, those red-eyed Eddie should've been processed to Hague for crimes against humanity.- The 1998 reeditions for Iron Maiden and NPFTD

Also, for the record: I'm the worst Eddie![]()
No worries, you can have the title, I was trying to be funny. My parents "blessed" me with the name Sotirios lolAre you an Eddie/Edward, too? I will fight you for that title.![]()
I actually quite like the 1998 re designed Eddie for the debut.Unpopular opinion: I like the 98 debut Eddie more than the original. Not because it is particularly great, but because I never liked the original design.
I think it suits No Prayer Eddie. The original debut Eddie is just too good, I like both though. Eddie's eyes changed with FOTD and I guess they wanted something different for the remastered covers. Not sure why they did it for the debut. Killers Eddie is probably more iconic...People don't shit enough on these covers, those red-eyed Eddie should've been processed to Hague for crimes against humanity.
Ed Hunter Eddie is just another version of POM Eddie, more or less. CGI really didn't help metal covers. The worst Eddie for me was ed hunter Eddie. The obsession around this time with crappy CGI was awful.
Well said. I think for metal, landscapes are usually the best choice (like in the original cover). VXI cover is still cool and interesting imo.I get the impression most people cringing about the football pitch are just triggered by football, not necessarily anything to do with the image. Probably if it was wrestling or dungeons and dragons instead it would have been ok.
Totally agree--I've always loved the Virtual XI art apart from the football pitch (fair point by @srfc, since I don't like football either) and the fact nobody plays a game with the console sitting on their lap. That album had a lot of great art around it, too, I thought. The Riggs Futureal art that's more than a little evocative of a futuristic version of Powerslave, as well as The Angel and the Gambler single art with Tophat Eddie. Any of the lazy Ed Hunter tie-in stuff, though...yeah, no thanks.Don’t know why so many have mentioned VXI. Apart from the cringe fest football stuff inside the booklet the album cover itself I think looks great, even with football pitch in the background.
