Now Playing (Video Games)

I like the steam deck and have been tempted, it mostly just comes down to liking Nintendo’s first party offerings enough that it’s sufficient for the amount of gaming I do (+ titles that are generally cross platform and available anywhere).

I will be curious how Switch 2 stacks up against the steam deck though. Nintendo tends to be good at being on the cutting edge of things but then struggles to keep up when a competitor outdoes them.
 
Provided the launch lineup is good there's a good chance I'll pick up Switch 2 day one. I love the core idea of the switch (even if I mainly play handheld) so all I really wanted was a beefier version of what we already had.

Now when I've read your posts I actually remembered what my biggest gripe with Knight was - repetition. I loved Riddler's trophies in the previous one but IIRC there were over 200 here and it was the only side mission I didn't do. All of those that I did were just a single mission repeated 3 or 4 times (Firefly, Two-Face, Penguin etc.). So, once you did the first step in side mission, there was no excitement really, and felt like a chore. As per Batmobile, once I got used to controls, I liked those tank missions. Races not so much.
 
35+ hours in Red Dead Redemption 2 and I'm still somewhere in middle of third act (out of 6 I think). Game is great. All praises were well earned. Game have some issues with controlls on a horse but other than that - it is a shame that I didn't played earlier.
 
I really loved RDR2, I think it is mostly a masterpiece. My second playthrough was just as rewarding as the first, perhaps moreso. I will certainly do a third in a few years - a stellar achievement in videogaming.
 
Can you compare RDR and RDR2 in terms of quality/playability?
I played RDR long time ago but didn't finish it because whole time I had this feeling "Man, I wish I was playing GTA"

Finally took the time to finish Miasma Chronicles after taking a long break from it. It's a very good game, especially if you like the XCOM genre and enjoyed Mutant Year Zero.

About to start wrapping up STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl after playing it on and off for about a month. Solid game, but there’s been some bugs. My first time playing the series, too.

After that I’m on to finish up FFVII Remake and play through Rebirth. As a relatively new PS5 owner I also started my first God of War game, Ragnarok. Pretty good thus far.
 
Monster Train is 90% off on Steam, so obviously I picked it up after research told me it's supposed to be "the other" best-of-all-time deckbuilder (next to Slay the Spire and now Balatro). It's living up to its reputation, super fun, closer to Balatro I'd say in terms of how chill it is (so far, at least).

Also bought 5D chess just to fuck with my friends :P
 
My gaming ADHD strikes again. While my brother and I have been working our way through Vampire Survivors, we also started on Diablo IV, it's fine. He was curious about the boxing game Fight Night for the 360 and we are having a blast. Can't recall the last time we laughed so hard, the K.Os are hilarious.

I also decided to play Max Payne and it's a lot of fun. I like how "simple" it is, no collectables, no achievements, no secrets, etc. Just play through it, unlock higher difficulties and that's it. Allows me relax and enjoy the gameplay and (very dramatic) story.

Haven't gone back to Alan Wake II or the Castlevania games, also Doom 3 currently on hold. Instead I've been spending time with Unbound: Worlds Apart. There are a couple of games on sale I might pick up this week, but yeah, kinda playing whatever floats my boat rather than ticking items off a list or forcing myself through a certain game/level.
 
If you like adventure and investigation games, as I do, I highly recommend The Roottrees Are Dead, a game where you attempt to recreate the genealogy of a long-lasting rich family using the 1990s internet. It was thoroughly enjoyable, among the apex of a genre. It reminds me the most of The Return of the Obra Dinn, an absolute A++ gaming experience that I completely recommend.

Hell yeah! Loved the return of the Cobra Din, need to get back to it, in fact. Also bought Killer Frequency recently. You're a radio dj in the 80s and people are calling in reports of a serial killer and you have to help the listeners avoid the killer.
 
So, I've finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and liked it so much that I went for 100% (achievements on PS5) and made it.

Started God of War (2018) and just when I got the hang of it, I got a notification that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is on sale in PS store (75% - 19,99 euros). Moreso, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is also on sale (Deluxe edition on 80% - 17,49 euros) and God of War: Ragnarok is 50% down (39,99).

I think I got my 2025 sorted out.
