Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Spectacular tour, live releases, book (s), and documentary series are the pieces of the full arsenal for two consecutive years in a row (2025/206).
Yep, plus merch and maybe something else, who knows. Which is still very nice. But live releases from 2 torus, right(!). I guess - 2025 is their focus for this, the 2nd leg will be for the big world tour and (let's hope) writing a new album.

Live stuff from the vault (live box) isn't that likely, unfortunately.

I don't want to sound arrogant, but chees. Of course there is gonna be a new album (explains to an eight year old that 1+1 = 2). It never ceases to amaze me how inexpert this forum is for supposedly being diehard fans.
I also think we should be more optimistic, Steve even had a thought of semi-retiring but still releasing albums and has been positive about the future of the band lately, but we are in such new territory for the band with Nicko and all.
Was the opinion in this forum predominantly that there will be no more new Maiden albums? I didn't have that impression at all.
Kind of mixed, iirc, more optimistic?

New short interview with Dave. More with him, great.
It doesn't seem like fifty years since I first auditioned for the band. And obviously so much has happened in all those years - certainly a lot of touring! But this tour is going to be very special. The production is going to be something we've never done before. And because we’ll be playing only old songs, it will be kind of like a band history lesson.

It's a wonderful opportunity to do this particular set. We'll be picking out some of the tunes that we started out with when we were playing in the pubs. So there'll be a bunch of stuff that we haven't played for God knows how long, and it’ll be exciting to revisit that. It shows you how strong those early songs are that we’re to be able to play them fifty years later. They’ve stood the test of time. And obviously, a lot of the younger people in the audience would never have seen those songs being played live before. So it will be an amazing leap back to the future. Or forward to the past. One of those.

Right now, Bruce’s singing is incredible. It's so powerful. On the last tour he was running around all over the stage and singing so well. He's got it all. He's got everything.

To me, there's nothing worse than seeing a band you like on stage and they look like they shouldn't really be there doing it. We’re nearly hitting the seventies mark now, but I think we will all know when it would be time. It would be a mutual decision. I think there's a time and a place to bail out with dignity and grace - as opposed to dragging it out. If you can leave it at that high level, and then bow out gracefully, I think it would be satisfying for us. We’re all set up for this tour, and after that we’ll see what the future holds. But at the moment the band sounds great, we still have that excitement and adrenaline when we go on stage. We’re still enjoying it, and that's what it's all about, really.

- he hinted at some old songs they'll be playing on the upcoming tour, songs the played during the pubs days!
- as for the future, he said they will all know when it's time to retire and that it would be a mutual decision. Also - they're all set up for this tour, and after that they'll see what the future holds. He thinks they still sound great, which is true.

I guess we can say they don't make plans in advance anymore.

Playing some really old songs would be a surprise, right. They haven't played for very long, hmmm. So ''Prowler''? And the pub days were the first 2 albums, the debut more.

If one is relatively healthy and has will to carry on, - he's in they eye of tornado - there's very little chance that he, or them collectively, will see clearly when it's time to hang it up. That's just how human nature works. Audience's perception of a band may differ, regarding if they still delivering the goods.
Iron Maiden is already balancing on the ledge, imho. No offence and no disrespect, but.
