    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I honestly never understood why some people complain about long songs or even double albums... I mean, i love this band so for me it's only logical to want MORE. I would be super happy if they released a quadruple album... I would love it even more if it was 10 albums. Never understood the...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

The most comparable feeling i ever got to this was at the end of 2014. We knew the band had been up to something in Paris and then, by Christmas, we had that "Uroton 15" on the Christmas card. Eddie was apparently running out from a studio with some tapes in his arms. The announcement of the...

Which one of the Di'Anno albums do you like the best?

I have to go with Killers. Better production, overall heavier songs but also a very interesting song with a more melodic/acoustic approach (Prodigal Son), better performances from the band, Adrian's playing, the bass tone from Steve... I just love Killers.

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I think the move towards a more "street" sound on NPFTD was much more inspired by the Appetite For Destruction-era Guns N' Roses than by grunge. Grunge hit big at the end of 91/beginning of 92, and NPFTD was released in 1990. Even Bruce's raspier singing style was, in my opinion, a way of...

    CD Reissues Vs. Vinyl Reissues

I've pretty much always been a CD person. Love the vinyl's size and collectible factor, but when it comes to the listening experience, i've always prefered CD's. That being said, just today i got the SSOASS vinyl reissue and i have to say that it sounds, at least to me, even better than the CD...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

I understand your point, but don't you think AMOLAD has an overall darker vibe that is not exactly present in the majority of the band's albums?

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I think originally the band's intention was to just wait a year, complete the LOTB tour and then focus on the new album. Given the fact that we will now have to wait ANOTHER year for the LOTB tour to even restart, let alone finish, i feel that they're going to simply release the damn album...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

You make some pretty cool points there. I understand the TXF and VXI argument and agree except for the vocal part. I'd say operatic type vocals are a big part of Maiden's overall sound. Also, and even if i agree that there are some differences between their "old" and "modern" sounds, what i'm...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I know it was different the way things were being handled back in November/December 2014, but i'm getting the exact same feeling i had back then: New album not only written and recorded, but release coming within the next few months. Just a feeling.

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

Well, that's interesting. I was originally focusing on studio albums, but Rock In Rio is actually a pretty good choice. It has songs from many different eras of the band, obviously has the live factor which is very important in this band's case (they are a self-proclaimed live band) so, yeah...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

Even tough my favourite "reunion" album would probably be AMOLAD, don't you think the album is much darker than the overall "reunion sound" on the other "reunion" albums for it to be the most representative of this period? Also, soundwise it stands out because of it not being mastered, something...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

As an album that represents the "classic" sound, i would have to agree, but that's the challenge here: Trying to find not our favourite or even the one that best represents the "classic" sound, but rather the one that most represents all the elements of the band's sound and, therefore, the most...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

I almost went with SSOASS, but the thing is, for me, synths aren't really a Maiden thing, but more of an experiment they did in that period. That's mainly why i did not choose SSOASS. BNW has keyboards, and that's more common in Maiden's sound than synths. In an objective or personal term, i...

Which album best represents Maiden as a whole?

This question is pretty tricky, i think. Many times when we choose an album as being the most representitive of a band's sound we tend to choose the one we like the most, as if THAT album's sound or style should be seen as being the band's definite. I've bee thinking a lot about this and i...

    Reissues - A question

Well, i get that... But at the same time, and since the albums were indeed reissued in CD, what real difference/cost would it have to simply change some of the covers, remove some tracks and... Well, that's it. You know what i mean?
