That's incredibly naive. Of course there would be fans who would think it was a “brilliant” idea to be close to the band during the recording sessions and maybe meet them. I've read complaints on forums/groups for much less popular metal bands that the band didn't come out to the fans waiting...

So I think the idea I had (in the 18th Studio Album discussion thread) wasn't so wrong. Dave was having a crisis, but it can't be that acute if Nicko hasn't talked to him about it in a long time.

Would they really announce the documentary and the shows all in one week? I now tend to believe that the rumor about the shows this week was false.

It is ok, but the question is why? In my opinion it has only disadvantages to wait.

I don't think it was such a big emotional blow either. Of course sad and tragic, but it's not uncommon for band members (even much younger ones) to reach a point where they no longer want to or are unable to tour, and it's not something they would never have expected.
