Create your own Iron Maiden setlist!

I think someone has said that NPFTD song was also considered for this tour? - that would have been a dream come true, for me. Anyway, 2014 tour should have been a tour related to the 90's albums IMO. It was a short date tour and they could have done a stage only with Marshall speakers as a tribute to these times and with backdrops, lights etc... that would have been the better option for us the fans and for the band too - I mean songs from 90's are not played often (aside from FOTD), and that for sure would have been very fresh for the band.

Where does that NPFTD rumour actually come from? I've seen it popping up here and then, but it seems that there's no proper source for it... :p

Well, doing a short summer run with more extensive 80's coverage was kinda neat concept, but the execution was very sub-par, for the reasons mentioned earlier. It really would have been cool if they went with one or two "90's additions", but well, that didn't happen. Sort of a wasted opportunity, really, since playing both ATSS and FOTD in 2012-13 already gave some basis for that and including Be Quick or be Dead or Bring Your Daughter too would not have taken the 80's focus away at all, really.

But alas, we got what we got, and I'm pretty happy with the Maiden England run in general, as I am with the tours that followed.

I agree, it's another excellent option for the 4th spot! :)

The biggest problem for me was the sub-par execution and somewhat pointless marketing of the 2014 tour: "--this is likely to be the last time we will tour with a set list based on the ‘80s, and therefore the last time fans will EVER hear some of these songs played live. With this in mind, for the 2014 dates we plan to change the set list around a little, to make it more equally representative of the whole of the ‘80s period"

Complete agree. Lots of hyperbole.

The irony is that the band is big enough to do whatever they want. I get that their "standard" tours only have so much room for setlist additions (well...at least how the band has historically constructed them), but there is zero reason why they couldn't do a few one off dates every once in a while to play whatever they want.

They'll never do that...but they could if they all wanted to.

Idk. I also heard it from here, but yeah, it seems that there's no proper source for it.

Maybe I'd change Aces High and Ides+Murders in the Rue Morgue around, since the latter would probably turn out a bit better such late in the show and wouldn't actually kill Bruce? :p

Following the same concept with a basis on the three history tours and the songs they played then, with one or two hopeful additions:

Powerslave stage dressing
1. Aces High
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. The Trooper
4. Revelations
5. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
6. Powerslave
-- "Seventh Son/Maiden England/icebergs" stage dressing --
7. Moonchild

The Unusual suspects:
Figured I would make a hits setlist, but with less of an emphasis on the usual hits (FOTD, RTTH) and for those kept in the set being moved around. Tried to only include songs that have been played since the reunion due to trying at some semblance of realism. Wanted to include SSOASS but didn't want a 14 song set. Also tried to get something from AMOLAD but ended up dropping one of them for the same reason. CSIT was tempting as well.
  1. The Number of The Beast
  2. If Eternity Should Fail
  3. The Evil That Men Do
  4. The Dance of Death
  5. Children of The Damned
  6. The Trooper
  7. Flight of Icarus
  8. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
  9. Moonchild
  10. Paschendale
  11. The Clansman
  12. Iron Maiden
  13. Powerslave
  14. Wasted Years
  15. Hallowed Be Thy Name

Oh well, I might just as well give it a try. Once again, it's sort of a mix between shameless wishful thinking and somewhat realistic Maiden setlist structure. I posted my "Alternative Reality 90's History tour" vision here a while ago and this is following some of the same lines, with much more focus on the Blaze-era, obviously, and a little look at the dawn of the reunion-era too.

1. Be Quick or be Dead
2.Futureal
3. The Number of the Beast/2 Minutes to Midnight
4. The Edge of Darkness
5. Afraid to Shoot Strangers
6. The Trooper
7. Fortunes of War/Blood On the World's Hands
8. Lord of the Flies
9. When Two Worlds Collide/Lightning Strikes Twice
10. The Clairvoyant
11. Fear of the Dark
12. The Clansman
13. Iron Maiden
--
14. Murders in the Rue Morgue/The Wicker Man
15. Blood Brothers
16. Man on the Edge
