I suspect a country in Saudi Arabia is harder to get beer for different reasons.
Dad never served in Saudi Arabia. He has, however, bought beer in Qatar and Kuwait. It should be noted that on a NATO military base, regardless of the religious restrictions of hosting nations, beer will be bought.
 
The country keeps prices that high and they have over a trillion dollars in a sovereign fund. Norway is a secret economic powerhouse and people don't realize it.
 
My parents bought booze in Pakistan. Pakistani laws allowed alcohol only to be sold to Christians, and only on Christian holidays. Consequently every store that had a concession to sell alcohol knew of every day any saint was celebrated anywhere in the Christian world.
