I was pretty confused when the neighbours’ house alarm was wailing and I saw flashlights inside. Stood in front of my house for a couple of minutes, waiting for burglars to come running out, then realised that all the houses are black.

I've decided I'm going to take this year to listen to a couple entire discographies by bands that I have overlooked, undervalued, or never fully given a chance. Starting with Judas Priest.

Who else should I try? Ideally, I'm looking for a classic metal band, not looking to delve into extreme death metal, black metal, etc.

Knowing your taste for progressive metal I wanted to recommend some of the other big progressive acts like say, Fates Warning or Queensrÿche. I think I will suggest Savatage instead though - save a few commercial attempts in the 80s they have a very strong catalog of albums!
