Maiden Tour 2014 (SPOILER TAGS REQUIRED WITHIN)

harrisdevot, you won't miss much if you don't see Slayer.

FrenchMember I strongly advise you not to watch Trivium. I saw them a couple of times a few years ago and they were disappointing plus their music sucks now too.

Wow, I didn't think so. Never mind... I'll stay for a few minutes and if the show is bad, I'll leave to see another concert :P
There is also the show of Rob Zombie that scares me. I think that will be bad too.

@ Black Wizard. On the contrary, I think I will miss a great show by Slayer. I love them, although their last records are not as consistent as the previous, and I find the idea of seeing Holt live quite intriguing ; I like the guy and he is very fun to look at onstage, from what I've seen on the Internet. As the the rest of the bill, I don't give a shit : I will have to wait for hours to see Harry and the guys from a decent position.

This is not a Slayer thread, so I won't be too long, but this is exactly the kind of stuff Maiden haters say on the band. South of Heaven is not really the equivalent of Reign in Blood, and Diabolus in Musica has little in common with their other stuff. One thing I would agree on, is that they are becoming less and less melodic, which can get a bit preoccupying. Anyway, live, they are just mindblowing, and the shows I went to in the early 90s remain among my best memories ever.

I think there's a Slayer thread in the Music Discussion section, so we can discuss this further in there if you'd like. However, in my opinion Slayer are super-boring live.

:applause:Right, Foro, plus, I'm now kind of forbiden to defend Slayer here : I would infringe the forum rules. Anyway Black Wizard, isn't "superboring" a bit excessive for such a powerfull band with so many classics ? What I love onstage with Slayer, is exactly what I dislike offstage : the attitude. No one is dancing and making tricks with his guitar, no one is running around with his microphone : a massive block of pure power :devil2:. King (who seems to be "a major league asshole" in real life, to use the words of a certain American president) is incredible to look at.

They are the epitome of stand and play. There's no performance or interaction with the crowd. Nothing happens other than they arrive, play the same song over and over again, then leave.

:funnypost: In a sense, you're right. Motörhead made me the same impression, and I liked it too. I'm not a big fan of the endless "Scream for me Paris" during the instrumental part of a song, and I love this kind of "no-bullshit" attitude.

Funny because I especially like it when the guys on stage are energetic and move around. The Maidens are great in this aspect, I find it especially epic when the guitar trio (+ Steve) come and stand on the front next to each other, like for example in The Trooper.

Exactly the kind of "poseur" attitude I hate. Same with Judas Priest. This is just a heavy Metal cliché. During the 80s I liked to see Steve run around like a loony, with the guitarists at the back.

Any Austrians here?
