Maiden Tour 2014 (SPOILER TAGS REQUIRED WITHIN)

True. Put in Hallowed and Heaven Can Wait instead of ATSS and Fearof the Dark, and it is nothing but an 80s greatest hits set.

If they do changes I expect Hallowed to be added and I hope for Infinite Dreams. Powerslave would also be nice. The problem is, it probably will mean The Prisoner has to go :(
Yup, I guess I just don't understand their logic. If they had been touring with Infinite Dreams, Still Life, DWYBO, Stranger In A Strange Land, HCW, etc. and were switching to the 2012/13 Maiden England set for next year, then their statement would make sense. Because...

7 songs from the "Early Days" DVD
7 songs from the "Live after Death" DVD
11 songs from the "Maiden England 88" DVD

...looks like a pretty broad 80s setlist to me already.

My slight disappointment would perish if they played something they haven't done in ages like Sea of Madness, again Infinite Dreams, Still Life or similar.

Of course number one would be Sign of the Cross but I won't count on that. That would be the experience of a life-time. Oh, Rock in Rio, how dear you are.

I'm of the same mind. There's two routes they could go with this, and if they choose to go the more interesting way I think I'll have a bit of my faith in them restored.

Honestly, they're probably just going to do more Powerslave-era stuff, and maybe Wrathchild. I'll still hope for something impossible like Stranger In A Strange Land though.

YES. I hope they resurrect that for their final tour. That song is one of their greatest, by far.

I think the changes will see the inclusion of Powerslave/ROTAM, Heaven can Wait, Prowler and either Children of the Damned or Remember Tomorrow.
I'd be stunned if they played 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.

Agreed on that, artwork looks good (slash better). I'm hopeful of an exciting and sufficiently varied setlist too, especially with the reference to the Early days.
You going to this then, and drinking as much as last year?

I can't go for the full three days --what day are Maiden actually playing?
I have no idea at the moment.

Congrats to all of you who are over in Europe that can go to these.

Here I will be hoping they do some US cities, but it's looking highly unlikely, isn't it.

All I've got to say on the matter of all this recent news is, if they do throw in changes such as "Infinite Dreams", or "Still Life", or "Killers", or any other "special" songs, I'm gonna be one pissed off American Iron Maiden fan.

Also, shame on all of you who rebuked my suggestion that this could very well have been a Maiden England continuation next year (and the whole setlist spoiler ordeal). Apparently I do know what the hell I'm talking about sometimes! :applause:

they've done history tours of every album of the 80s except SIT... They've played all the songs mentioned (except Prowler) which Bruce can't pull off. It'd be robbing fans (IMO) for them to redo those songs. I've been on every tour since Brave New World :) I would like to hear BNW songs again though.... Maybe some they never played in the states like "Out of the Silent Planet" or "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate". I love Maiden and have loved every setlist but Maiden England was disappointing. The only songs they played that I hadn't heard (that I wanted to) in my touring years was "Seventh Son" and "The Prisoner". I love Seventh Son album but they played 4 songs from it back in 2008 and failed to play "Infinite Dreams" on the last tour :( Sometimes I wonder what they are thinking

The special event being the two (possibly three) biggest Metal bands playing at Sonisphere festival? Just say you'll review it in the paper so that it's a work trip and claim everything on expenses. ;)

Wish I could do that. I doubt it, though - seeing as I work for an engineering company. :D

No, the special event being the Grand Depart of the Tour de France. I'll submit a holiday application tomorrow, as I wanted that week off anyway, and it's not a school holiday.

I'm a bit disappointed that I'll miss the start of Le Tour actually. :( If I haven't got a job by July then I'll go to Birmingham after Sonisphere and watch a few days of it with my friend who I watched it with last summer (when we were supposed to be doing our Masters dissertations!).

Wingman, my dad was an engineer and sometimes had to go on work trips to Norway. On one occasion he bought my mum some perfume and tried to put it on expenses. :P

I am really curious about the dates now. Metallica's dates feature some which Maiden have also listed. Now I wonder about the Dutch and Belgian dates which Metallica listed and which Maiden didn't.... (yet???) Both are -as most of the other dates- festivals of various genres of music.

Metallica dates (Maiden in bold):
June 4, 2014 - Imtech Arena, Sonisphere - Hamburg, Germany
June 5-8, 2014 - Rock Am Ring - Nürburgring, Germany
June 6-9, 2014 - Rock Im Park - Nürnberg, Germany

June 9, 2014 - Pinkpop Festival - Landgraaf, Netherlands
July 3, 2014 - Rock Werchter - Werchter, Belgium
July 6, 2014 - Sonisphere Knebworth - Stevenage, England

I just want understand what does Rod means when he says that next year they must start thinking to something new to do into 2015 and Beyond, new album? another history? who knows ?!
