This has to be Blaze. I mean, who one stars most of the classic Maiden albums but loves Virtual XI and all of Blaze's solo material? Hmm... Here are some revealing quotes from the Amazon profile:
As in the case of the real banking firm's victims, Blaze found himself without a job and near penniless as his share went to Iron Goldman's executives. This is the disrespect shown Blaze, who helped provide us with the last musically interesting period. His songs are replaced with live mockeries featuring the powerless yelps and stubbed toe induced meaningless howls of Dickinson.
I must say [Virtual XI] is one of my top 5 IM albums, its certainly miles ahead of their last three trilogy of horrors - Dance of Death, Amolad and The Forgotten Frontier. And that's not a matter of taste, those were lacking in everything except musical chops. In which case you're better off just buying a Dream Theater album.

I like this more than the more immature albums of the 80s Dickinson era, including NOB, 7th son, SIT and POM.

Blaze Bayley rocks!

Can anyone confirm the fact that Blaze harbors a lot of animosity against Maiden, especially Bruce?

I've seen some Blaze fans who harbour a lot of hatred towards Maiden, so it is certainly one of those. I highly doubt Blaze has the time to do that sort of thing.

Blaze is one of the most respectful men on the planet. He was on Bruce's radio show a few years back, and there was no tension between the two.

Just one dumbass fan, don't let it get to you, I've seen worser reviews. There was a fan on youtube who was doing a review of TFF and gave Starblind 9/10 saying it was too long and didn't understand it yet gave practically every other song 10/10. Also did a review of the best modern Maiden songs and forgot to include Ghost of the Navigator.

Why care for some random person who has nothing better to do with his time and life than write dozens of rants about how he hates something and posts it on sites like Amazon?

For the sputnikmusic poster, the guy is entitled to his opinions - even if I disagree with them - and so may genuinely hate Bruce's voice. My first girlfriend didn't like maiden because she didn't like Bruce's voice (I thought she was nuts!) except for, for whatever reason, Can I play with Madness.

For the Amazon poster.. it is sad to go around just trying to bash things (a review is good, an extremely biased and almost aggressive review is not). The truly absurd thing about his reviews is not that he doesn't like Maiden, it's that half of them aren't reviews, just "I'm so funny" rants about them that have nothing to do with the actual content he is reviewing. A negative review fine, a babble that has nothing to do with it (the En Vivo CD review for one) is just obscene. His review of Bruce's book makes no comment on the book itself, just Bruce, and one of his album reviews even says "Dont buy it, I wont bother to" ... so why's he reviewing it, he clearly hasn't bothered to listen? He rants about the band rather than the products... to the extent you think "Is it a vendetta, or is he just stupid enough to buy EVERYTHING from a band he doesnt like..."

The only thing I see wrong there is that he said a song was bad but gave it 9/10... Giving an album 9-10 for every single song is showing again, very strong bias. There's a guy on Ultimate Guitar who reviewed every Metallica album all with a 10/10 (Including St.Anger/Lulu) and trashed many other well respected albums. I'm sure there ARE albums out there with such amazingly consistent tracks but I would still say 'perfect' score for each is a bit OTT. Other than that, I agree with him. I don't see the fuss in Starblind and whilst I enjoyed Ghost of the Navigator... I rarely put it into a playlist, it is on the low end of BNW for me and probably struggle to hit my top50 if I was to actually rate them all. I'm quite amused that you said "Forgot to include" rather than just chose not to though :p

(Not saying you're wrong or opinions aren't valid etc.. just saying I don't really see the person you're talking about as being a terrible review :p)

Tbh I loved Starblind and thought it was the best song on TFF the song I didn't see the fuss about was El Dorado. Starblind is how you do a song honestly my opinion. As for Ghost Of The Navigator it was my favorite on BNW and to not mention it on a list is ridiculous it might not be one of their best songs but it still deserves recognition.

Everyone has differing opinions naturally, I love The man who would be king and Mother of Mercy tbh. I just thought it was odd that you said "He forgot to include" as if it's a garaunteed mention or you could read his mind or something ;)

Honestly Ghost Of The Navigator is a guranteed mention. I just found it odd that he included many songs from the modern Maiden songs and didn't include that song. But that's just my opinion.

Also, while I respect this guys right to voice his own opinion, I'm not sure how anyone can take him seriously as an arbiter of Iron Maiden taste when he's bad-mouthing the last three albums as well as NOTB, 7th Son, SIT and POM, which are some of Maiden's best. While I do like Virtual XI and The X Factor (when in the right mood), I think this whole thing is more about a fans personal hatred for Bruce or whatever which seems to be completely unmerited especially when his idol (Blaze) doesn't have a beef with Bruce. I wouldn't pay any more attention to this bitter guy with nothing better to do in life.
