RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

It always annoys me a bit when Janick’s contribution gets so little recognition. As a songwriter, but also his stage presence.
That helps Maiden so much with young fans who laugh at the ‘old blokes’ from AC/DC, Judas Priest, Scorpions… who apparently fall asleep almost standing up.
The fact that Janick is so active - Bruce is also relatively active, and Adrian has, of course, been dancing more lately than he used to - cannot be overestimated when it comes to how Maiden is perceived by young fans.
As a young fan you have nailed that statement.

Knebworth merch is on sale on the website for those of us who didn't want to queue for hours.
And for those who could not be arsed to go! :nana:

Thanks for the heads-up!

So I ordered the Eddfest programme and finally got it yesterday. It looks nice and features some good pictures of the "Museum" items that were on display at Knebworth. There is quite a bit of Classic Rock/Metal Hammer magazine recycling (including a piece on Bruce's WWI flight at Sonisphere 2014 that was published that year), but also some new interviews.

As it is always the case, in pure Iron Maiden quality control fashion, there is a picture of Bruce from Sonisphere 2010 with the figure caption claiming it to be from Sonisphere 2014! I wonder if there is anyone who checks these things before they go to print.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I have a ticket for the September 6th show in Harrison NJ for sale. It's a Megadeth Merch package that includes early entry and a pit ticket. Unfortunately I am unable to go. I can't resell on Ticketmaster because they only let you sell the ticket itself but I do have confirmation from OneLive that I can transfer the entire package, to just give them the new ticket owner's info. I paid $400 for it. I'd like to get my money back if possible but I'm negotiable. Not looking to make money off of this, I just hate to see the ticket go to waste. I have references from the Metallica forums if anyone is a member there as well. Please message me if you are interested.

I checked Ticketmaster and currently the price for this package, including fees is $380. I can do $300 if anyone is interested. I’m considering all offers, though, so if you’re interested, make me an offer.

I absolutely relate to the Adrian dislike from back in the day. Just didn't like his vibe, his stances, the way he looked playing guitar, seemed boring and grumpy on stage. There's a bit in Maiden England where it looks like he gives the finger to someone in the front row. I was aghast, like how fucking dare you, Mr Smith, you cunt.

These opinions were formed when I was 10 or less, watching the videos at home, LAD, ME, 12 Waster Years, Donnington 92, so there wasn't much musical analysis goin on. This changed with every passing tour post reunion. I came to love the guy.

Odd thing is, when I did air guitar back then I found that I 'played' more like Adrian than anyone else, mimiced his stances and right hand. Although 10yr old me was more often seen mimicing Steve than any guitar player. First time I touched a real bass the owner was surprised that I could do a half decent gallop, for an untrained creature, triplets an shit. So practice your air guitar, kids.

I must be in the minority, since I always considered Adrian to be the cool looking one, hence the seriousness.

In the '90s, one of my country's TV channels used to broadcast metal concerts on Friday or Saturday nights. I think there must have been some metal fans working there, because over the course of a year or so they showed Behind the Iron Curtain, Live After Death, Maiden England, and Raising Hell. I was blown away by all of it. I think that's really how I discovered Maiden.

It was so different and kick-ass. We had only been independent for a few years, and those were wild times, including on television.

Watching those live shows, I absolutely adored everything about them - the show itself, the music, the boys on stage. I even thought their jesterish clothing on Live After Death was great. It never even crossed my mind that I might dislike any of them.

You could sense their personalities from the way they behaved on stage while playing. Nicko was funny and completely owned his drum kit. Steve was badass. Bruce was the ultimate frontman. And both guitarists seemed very intelligent, professional and restrained - maybe even a little shy.

And boy, the way they played those guitars was honey to my ears.

So I don't share the impression some of you have regarding Adrian's character. I never got any negative impression of him at all. Even then, I thought he looked stylish and was a great guitar player.

For me it was all just knee jerk reactions of a young person. Like, strats looked cool, pointy Lados did not so Adrian was at the back of the queue from the start. Those white tassles on his sleeveless jacket in the Maiden England video, oh my, I wanted to be sick. At the same time I thought everyone else looked cool as fuck in their spandex. Go figure. But yeah, I was a child.

Sounds like a wonderful tv channel you had there.
