Saw 2 amazing shows in the past 2 weeks:
Australian Pink Floyd Show and
Bryan Adams (Pat Benatar opened)

1 APF I can see why David Gilmour states they are the best Pink Floyd tribute band in the world! Their visuals and performance matched PF concert history

2 Bryan Adams was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time from last night performance and the visuals were just off the charts

Bryan is on my concert wishlist in the near future. Keith Scott, the guitar player doesn't get enough praise. Incredibly tasteful player and one of Edward Van Halen's favourite guitarists.
 
Opeth did not disappoint at all. It was an outdoor venue and I went about half way back for optimum sound experience. Such polished musicians, they sound incredible!

The venue, The Piece Hall in Halifax is a an 18th Century outdoor cloth market, very grand and neoclassical, which worked perfectly with Opeth (and Katatonia and the local lads Paradise Lost, too). Love the light show and the spire of the building getting lit up as part of that. It was a very relaxed crowd just enjoying the music.

It was probably the best organised venue I've been to for a long time. Staff everywhere pointing you to the shortest queues etc
 
Saw Sepultura's last European show (allegedly) last night. There was a few other bands on the bill, I'd never seen any of them before. I missed the openers but they were followed by Sacred Reich, Bloodbath, Biohazard and then Sepultura. Sacred Reich were great, good sound and mostly the hits with only two songs I didn't know. Bloodbath were pure shite. Biohazard were great but mostly an Urban Discipline heavy set and I'm more familiar with State of the World Address plus a good few songs I didn't know at all. Sepultura were brilliant too, but I'm not a fan of your man's vocals, and didn't know the bulk of the set, seems they have way more albums post 1993 than I anticipated :lol:

The Piece Hall looks like an outstanding venue for outdoor shows. I'd love to see a concert there at some point.
 
Saw two enjoyable shows recently:
First was John Mellencamp on his greatest hits tour. He was better than expected and was "an evening with; there was no opening act.
Then I saw Don Felder open for the Guess Who. Both surpassed our expectations not only the way they sounded but visually as well.

I'd happily see Bloodbath. They should really have played the Halifax gig, what the crossover of personnel with Opeth, Paradise Lost and Katatonia. A truly incestuous concert experience.

That’s awesome. @MrK and I saw night 3 in Chicago and it was spectacular. Moving Pictures in full was such a treat.

No better bang for your buck than going to an “evening with” show for an artist you really like. I’ve seen far too many subpar openers suck time away from the headlining artist who I’m really there to see. A great example is Opeth, who often seem to drag the uber-boring Katatonia on tour with them.
