I’ve had enough of this heat

The weather this summer just sucks. All I want to do is go fishing and it is so hot here in the East of England. Just fed up now. We have had hardly any rain and it is just depressing.

I know other parts of the world are struggling badly, but I just need to rant.

I suggest you don't move to Australia, even though its winter right now we have still gotten some 20+ Celsius days with biblical amounts of rainfall, the fishing has gone to SH!T in both fresh and salt water. The heatwave in Europe is a summer cold shock here. though I also don't know the true meaning of cold (I'm not lucky enough to get under 13C here, I'm in shorts all year)

What’s your AC situation like? It’s non-existent here in the UK.

Here in Mexico we have neither AC or central heating. Right now we open windows and turn on ceiling and floor fans and during winter we just bundle up. If it gets too bad we turn on space heaters. The problem is, the fans don't really change our electric bill, but the space heaters can easily quadruple it even if you only use it for 4 hours for 5 days.

Sounds brutal!

Sometimes, one gets used to it. I prefer this to AC. AC dries out the air, has an artificial smell I can't quite put my finger on and is horrible for your electric bill and the environment.

I walked into a convenience store recently and as I open the door I get hit with the blast of AC and all I could think was, "Huh... smells like the US."

Nice! Where at?
