RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

I wonder what exactly did dennis straton during his period in iron maiden. If his role was that important. He was in one record and thats all? Did he write any song? Becuase at least killers album is written by harris and maybe the first album too. For the RRHOF just send a big eddie no one have done that before.
Decent guitarist, and he was lucky to be in Maiden at the right time.

Chris Dale was also there.
Chris Dale made a guest appearance on bass for a couple of songs with the Ides of March tribute act at the dive bar on Tuesday night. We spoke to him afterwards in the drinks seating area , nice guy. He was also with his son and another guy who looked familiar but I don’t know who he was, both were wearing Paul Di’Anno t shirts.

Dennis Stratton played the second guitar solo in 'Phantom of the Opera'. One of the greatest guitar solos in Iron Maiden's history. That s enough for me .

Sales must be quite bad.

And the worst part is that I sort of hope they don’t do too well, because I fear this is the type of shows/events they are aiming for in the future. I want them to do "normal" shows and tours.
Men,here we go again?? I only saw 2 shows that in some videos the stadium wasnt full
Athens and san siro and i talk about the floor

And i think this stadium or big shows is because their 50 aniversary. FPT was a normal tour with big and small venues. Thats what the future is. I think this is the bigger they can get now in their last years wich is impresive for a band in their 70s

Stratton was technically both right and wrong timing at Maiden. Right in the sense that guitar talent is irrelevant, more than capable for the job, but wrong in a way cos they had a real rush of hiring a 2nd guitarist to record the first album, they didn't know him personally, and turns out chemistry wasn't perfect.

Two main reasons for why his stint lasted only some ten months or even less: 1) Too involved with the production of the first album, cardinal sin for the young Harris (now it wouldn't be a big deal) 2) Not willing to spend 24/7 with the rest of the lads. In defence of Stratton, I think thats a bs reason to kick someone out, don't think Harris personally liked him much. Now the relationship seems improved, good.

But, it is easier to find a good guitarist than a good singer. Bruce & Steve clashed a lot during the singers first year in Maiden, but Steve couldn't afford to give a boot so soon purely to creditibility reasons. I honestly think that had Bruce been a guitarist, his tenure would have lasted 2-3 years max. Bruce & Dennis have similar personalities.

Last but not least, Dennis was the one who recommended Clive. So he has a big part in the story of the GOAT band.
