Obvisously, I have been too ambitious in my pun.I'm not actually interested in this album: I liked the character and charm of the original. Why is he trying to reinvent the past all of a sudden? Was he taking notes when Wolfsbane re-recorded their debut album a couple of years ago?

I could see a number of possible interpretations of your post, put it that way. I decided to go with the most straighforwardObvisously, I have been too ambitious in my pun.![]()

Well, Imagine Dragons "Believer"![]()

Yup, that was one of the other possibilities

The last one was "Bruce is now so cocksure and smug that he'll put out any old shit, knowing that his hardcore fans will just lap it up anyway."![]()
Ghost of Cain appreciation post
Much appreciated!
I've just come across the bootleg from Madrid 1998. Damn, were we lucky to witness this.
Oh yes... Rock In Madrid! That gig was fantastic. I specially remember «Darkside of Aquarius», and «2 Minutes To Midnight». Accident of Birth had just come out. Exciting times. It was the first time I saw Dickinson and Smith on a stage. I went there on my own. It felt like a dream.I could not go to that show and I still regret it!
I was lucky enough to see Bruce, Adrian, Roy Z, Eddie, and Dave at a festival in Madrid in 1997 though.

"Bruce Dickinson found the grave and confirmed Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green will be on their next studio album!"
In this interview, Bruce was asked if there could be potential guests on the new album like Adrian or Roy:
''There are no plans for that at the moment, I have 2 great guitar players, a great keyboard player. I mean, we wrote all the songs between us, did everything up, so. Nobody would object, but I like the idea that once you got a crew, I think you owe it to them to respect them and not trying kinda almost... [he did not finish]... it's always a bit weary of having guests on solo records, is if like the band you've got is not good enough, you know. Maybe that's the wrong way to think about it, but I like to make things nice and clear.''
More guests (a vocalist!) is surprising, considering the band. Maybe it's for 1 song. Now I'm expecting one very heavy song, maybe with some vocals like for the Ragnarok's outro. Tribal sound too.So Bruce has completely changed his mind about how guest appearances should be viewed.
I was there too, and years later a have an polite argument with a well known spanish metal journalist because of his review of this show. Another who couldnt respect bruce to record and album wirh industrial or grunge influences. You know the situation back then lolI can vividly remember Adrian Smith laughing when we all were repeating the words to the intro to The Prisoner. Happy days!

Btw what a weird line up for that festival
Manolo Kbzabolo - a spanish punk guy who knows 3 things to play they guitar and sing songs about chickens abortion
A palo seko punk or something like that
Los suaves
Napalm death trash death metal
Moonspell gothic?
Marillion ¿¿¿????
Bruce dickinson
And maybe another bands.
I cant remember who closed the festival? Los suaves? I have the ticket signed by the migthy manolo kabezabolo lol. Some reviews of the show in the metal press were clearly much more influenced by what Bruce had done before (i.e., turning his back on metal and jumping on the alternative/grunge rock bandwagon, whilst at the same time badmouthing a lot of people in the process) than by the gig itself!
It was quite weird, but the festival was organised by Mastertrax to celebrate their 10th anniversary and those bands were either on their roster or they were the distributors of their albums in Spain at the time.
The complete line-up was:
Manolo Kabezabolo
Pulkas
Moonspell
A palo seko
Eleven pictures
The Blood Divine
Porretas
Napalm Death
Bruce Dickinson
Peter Green & Splinter Group
Marillion
Los Suaves
