RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

Not sure they are that well rehearsed this year either.

That has been happening for quite some time, hasn't it? It usually takes them a few shows to get things right.

I managed to catch the second show on the GMETID tour and they were clearly under-rehearsed (and were also treating the show in some ways as a rehearsal in front of 9000 paying customers).

Is it really that difficult to rehearse for a longer period of time so fans get the best version of the band live from the first show of the tour?

You must see guns n roses first shows of a tour. The best one was RIR 2011. Even if RIR was the first show LOL. Bumblefoot later told that he havent seen axl for one year before RIR. They are in another level in that.

I am not sure about the rehearsal time, but it does seem like a common thing that they need a few shows to get everything right.

It's not necessarily major things, but when it takes six(!!!!!!!!) shows to get Killers right then something is wrong.
I did also think that at the time. It was a short amount of time between the London film premiere nearer the start of May and opening night later in May, unless Dave/H/Bruce were already in Croatia and flew back?
My educated guess is that they had a week and a half.

Maybe Maiden should actually play a few songs on stage for soundcheck.

I think we should not be comparing Iron Maiden with the lowest common denominator and hold them to higher standards instead.

That's where arguments between members usually start. So probably not a good idea for band's longitevity.

This is one from the last time Steve and Bruce did a soundcheck together:

And we all know how it ended...

Adrian ended up apologising (the fish was in his guitar case).

Maybe steve was angry because of that we know that they like to reaharse drum and bass alone but maybe he expected the band to be there with him.

I am not excusing the band for being underrehearsed, but can you imagine the amount of willpower that they will have to summon up to rehearse the same songs that they’ve played with Nicko for decades?

If Maiden chooses the Guns N' Roses path once more, we'll probably get No Prayer for the Dying II, followed by Bruce's second great escape from the band.

Better to compare them to Rush and Metallica...

Oops!

I Dont see that disaster performances from Simon. Lars has been skipping double drums parts from songs and other fills since ages.this guy play the songs like were recorded, just sound different. I emjoyed the show but its your opinion

When the local press (not the music press) writes about Rock am Ring, it can sometimes be amusing:

- The band Iron Maiden sports a wide variety of clothing styles - from band T-shirt to beach-ready outfits.
- Bruce Dickinson delivered a slightly confused monologue about water.
- Unfortunately, he lacks vocal dynamics, but you can forgive him for that because he changed costumes so many times.
- It’s hard to tell when Iron Maiden's songs end and new ones begin.

Those points raise a very valid question, IMO. Does the reporter even understand english?
