News Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

Yeah, we all know Bruce has some pretty questionable political stances and all, but I honestly don't think he was being xenophobic. I think he was just pissed off and dropped 'greek cunt' because the show was in Greece.

Of course he isn`t xenophobic, he was pissed of in Greece and used two relevant words together to get his point across. Has anybody on here ever been to a football match or on a night out in a major city and come home offended?

We can be almost certain that he wouldn't say Israeli cunt in Tel Aviv without being cancelled from everywhere or Irish /Scottish cunt in Dublin /Glasgow without being burnt alive.
Just to name 3 of the many countries he most definitely wouldn't use nationality slur, not even by accident or tongue slippage.

I think Bruce even expressed regret for using the word "Greek" in recent times and stated that it was out of order from him. IIRC he said that he should've just called him a cunt.

Yes I saw that but did he apologize? Did Iron Maiden management cared to apologise at any point? And in the end fuck the apology. The best apology would be they play "for Greece only" ATG this time. Did they care to even consider deviating from their sacred routine for their fans?

So to answer to @Cat Milk Supreme I don't feel offended. Never was. I feel deeply disappointed.

Look at the video below, 2 weeks ago Metallica came to Greece and took the time to learn and play and sing!! "De khoras pouthena" (1:30) a rock Greek song of 90s to please their Greek fans.
This performance was obviously for Greece only, something that made it special and unforgettable. You get my point? And on the other hand you have this shitty little cunt of man demonstrably enjoying denying ATG (0:10) to the audience during the intro of Infinite Dreams**
Having that as fresh as two weeks ago, the contrast between the two approaches is too sharp to ignore.

**Not sure if it's entirely related :D but a few songs later, during the most difficult song for his cords (Aces High, 2:08), a smoke-dense fire appeared just in front of the scene.

Mentioning Alexander the Great during the gig rubs salt in the wound!

If Bruce is xenophobic, hes been married to an American, is currently married to a Frenchwoman, played for many years with a Brazilian guy, and his current solo band has an American drummer, Italian keyboard player, Irish bassist, Swedish/American and Swiss guitarist. Quite cosmpolitan I guess really? Strange wouldn't he be playing with all English people if he didn't' like foreigners? Cause I dont think there is a shortage of british session players who would be quite happy to take the gig?

Hes also best mates with H, whose wife is Canadian and has appeared on stage with Smith/Kotzen, featuring two Brazilians and an American?

I'd also forgotten that Gus G played a solo on Mandrake. If he was Hellenophobic as being suggested here isn't it a bit weird that a greek guy was asked to play a solo on his album?

Bruce didn’t know the name of the guy with the flare, so he called him “the Greek.” He gave him a label, took a shortcut, and identified him by the country they were playing in. In reality, the guy with the flare could’ve been a completely different nationality - a Lithuanian c*nt, for example. Bruce just used the identifying detail available to him at the time: “We’re playing in Greece tonight, so he’s most likely Greek…”

What exactly is the problem with that?

And also - none of us, absolutely none of us, are perfect. Especially, if Bruce has already apologized… I mean, seriously - what the hell more do people want?

***
On another note, “c*nt” is an expression of extreme anger and frustration. People swear - you know that.
Of c*nts and men. Iron men. “Go live in moscow, you c*nt.”

I don't think Bruce is xenophobic, but none of those are convincing arguments. Just look at any racist or xenophobe out there. It is very common for them to have issues with certain nationalities, ethnicities, races and so on. While simultaneously being friends or being cordial with select few. Usually those are "one of the good ones".

That's how you get Trump supporters for example, who hate Mexicans but have a Mexican friend who's cool.

So you are seriously saying someone with a multi ethnic group is a racist and your only counter argument is he shouted "greek cunt" when he was annoyed?

TBH I think working with people of multiple nationalities is pretty convincing. There is hardly a shortage of British musicians who would be quite happy to work with him. Why would be bother to emply foreigners?

And if he hates Greeks as you claim why did he have a greek guitar player and agree to tour greece with Maiden in the first place and with his solo band?

Oh and being in favour of Brexit means not wanting to be controlled by the EU.

What the hell are you talking about? Go and reread my comments. I literally said Bruce isn't xenophobic. It's the very first sentence of the part you quoted. I said multiple times that I don't think he's xenophobic. Try and actually read what people are saying instead of this nonsense.

I simply explained that your argument is weak and doesn't hold up to scrutiny. A bunch of your examples apply to Steve, yet we have interviews from around 1982 where he made derogatory remarks about people of colour. Someone being friendly with a person from a different ethnicity or race doesn't mean that this person cannot be racist or xenophobic.

You got every single of my positions wrong. Read them carefully before responding next time.

Oh and being in favour of Brexit means not wanting to be controlled by the EU.
Like clockwork lmao

I always read this sort of discussion about Bruce with a bit of unease because I admire him and I don’t want to believe that he is xenophobic.
But I can’t deny that some of the things mentioned above (Leana, etc.) are a bit odd.

But you are not doing Bruce any favours with that argument. It is a very well-known argument, one often used by racists, that they do, after all, have a black friend.
There were even slave owners who had relationships with black women.

Exactly. That's what I'm saying as well. I'm not claiming that he is xenophobic. I'm purely reacting to the argument presented, which doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

ok so I am a racist for pointing out someone working with a large number of non english people is a strange way for someone who dislikes foreigners to act?

A slave owner might well be racist. The people he works with aren't slaves. THat really is a weak argument.

So are you saying he cant get English people to work for him? THey are so disgusted by his political position that the only people willing to accept his meagre wages are the poor underpaid workers from abroad?

So someone who is racist likes working with foreigners. That is a glaring non sequiter and one of the weakest arguments I have heard in a very long time. Why on earth would someone who disliked foreigners choose to work with foreigners if they could just as easily work with people of the same nationality when he is paying their wages?

thank you for proving my point for me.
You are happy being in an undemocratic political system.

I am not. I believe in democracy.

You are also a bit of a bellend.
