I want to try and change the colour on my Jackson X series Adrian Smith sig, to a more dark yellowy colour, the neck on mine is very pale. I am hoping to get the look on the 50th anniversary model (images provided) does anyone have any tried, true, simple and cheap ways to achieve this.

I've done several guitar modifications myself, and it's been a very satisfying experience! I remember how changing the pickups on my Strat transformed my sound.

That finish looks pretty light in the photo, so I can understand why you want to darken it while keeping the neck looking natural. I’d be interested to hear if anyone has tried a simple, reversible method on this type of maple finish, especially something that does not require refinishing the whole neck.

That photo is what I want it to look like, mine is paper white.
