Megadeth

Listened to the new album once a few days ago, the only one I've heard since Youthanas. Decent. Couple of stand outs but I can't quite remember which ones. I found the lyrics a bit cheesy or basic at times, like fine if he was 20 but a little strange from himself. But maybe that's the norm from our Megadave, I dunno.

But yah, it was decent listen, I'll go again this week.

Very true about thr lyrics i went to see the documental and felt thr same.

Marketing works for sure LOL. I dont feel the new album is that great but here it is,no 1.

LOL - guy famous for not being friends with his bandmates and replacing them all the time (or forcing them to quit) tells young musicians that skill is more important than camaraderie.

If you see behind the mask documental he has ALL under contract. He has to write 80% of the megadeth album by conttract. And he speaks a few times about argueing with other band memer for asking money for reunion or albums. Im sure the guy has to be difficult to work with. But genious indeed

I’ve always wondered who would be harder to work for: Dave Mustaine or Jon Schaffer.

I think Dave would be worse, because while Jon is a control freak, he doesn’t have the immature streak and the pettiness that Dave does. Some of the things that come out of Dave’s mouth just make me think damn dude, you sound like you’re 15. Grow up!

I recall that during the classic lineup years, Nick Menza had a contract with Dave that at least one song on each album had to start with just drums. Looking back through those four albums, there was a song on each album that started with just drums, too!

Ridiculous.

Dave’s a petty, childish bozo but at least I know he’s actually intelligent and one of the greatest writers to ever touch the genre.

Schaffer is equal amounts of a control freak but with 80% less talent, influence and popularity. Also, I don’t work for domestic terrorists.

As i said, watch behind the mask youll see he speaks a lot about contracts. But what is funny is that 80% of the song has to be written by dave and if there are 10 songs so 2 for the others. Maybe to preserve the Megadeth sound?

Imagine the low self-esteem Dave must have for this to actually be in a contract. Then again, we already know that about him based on his inability to not bring Metallica up all the time, even when unprompted.

Low or high? Because he writes the whole album wich for me its a bit unfair to call it a group? But in thr documental he says that as a achivement. Watch the documental its very interesting when he speak about the group. About the songs of the new album its a bit boring.
