Oh look, it's Doom and Gloom again75 countries booked hundreds and hundreds of cinemas, but the sales have been a complete flop, so far. It looks like no one is interested in a documentary movie about Maiden![]()
. I imagine I'm like a lot of people and don't buy movie tickets months in advance. I certainly don't expect every theater to be sold out but I think sales will pick up as we get close and there will be walk up sales.A live concert broadcast is different from a documentary movie released around the world...Tickets for the Metallica live concert broadcast in movie theaters were almost sold out in my city. I wouldn't say that movie theaters are generally uninteresting when it comes to music or metal.

I do LOL expecting many people were going to watch it. Just me at the monentDo many people book cinema tickets this far in advance? I've never done it.
I had a quick look at a couple of screenings for The Devil Wears Prada 2, same cinema as Maiden and a week earlier. Not too many tickets sold for that either and it's a massive draw.

I think this tries to be two things at the same time and will end up being none. I can see a casual fan thinking this one is for the hardcores, and the hardcore fans thinking this will be for the casuals, with nothing caught in between because it's cancelled out.For 99% of fans, the documentary movie isn't interesting at all, now you've got everything on the Net.
Probably you are right. The worst thing would be announcing hundreds of cinematic screenings in some 75 countries around the world, and then canceling the project due to a lack of fan interest. Let's hope they invest in some PR, and finally, the sales will increase. If not, it would be a very bad PR for 50 Anniversary.I think this tries to be two things at the same time and will end up being none. With that said, I also booked a ticket
This. And it's only playing for two nights at theaters near me. Really it will just be all die hard Maiden fans who will go see it at the theater. The Maiden camp is not looking to break any box office records. I see it as a treat for fans like us to be able to see it on a big screen and with big sound. They are not expecting to win any BAFTAs or Oscars...It's a cinema screening, I can't imagine buying a ticket to a film two weeks in advance, never mind two months in advance. Most ticket sales will come likely the night before.
Wow. The theater I'm going to is already half sold out. When i bought the ticket i was the only one lol
Last weekend. I saw Project Hail Mary. I go to cinema about once a month.I actually went to a theater twice in 2025. Last August for Rifftrax Live: Time Cop and Spinal Tap 2 last September.
I don't see myself going to the movies again anytime soon.
