Bruce Dickinson

Because it really stands out when you see recent photos of Bruce.
And pretending the elephant in the room isn't there would be really weird.
Besides, dickinson1978 is right: teeth play an important role for a singer.
Easy solution: Stop worry about her personal Instragram pictures. It's from her personal sphere (and "her account isn't set to private isn't an argument in favor of that we should discuss her pictures of their lives together). Just because they are out there doesn't mean people should obsess over them, because considering this is like the tenth time we're at "look at how she's photoshopping/IG filtering stuff lol", people are obsessing and gossiping. That's far more ridiculous than her using IG "filters" like millions of others out there.

Here we go again with this argument from people who still don’t get the Internet: If you post something for everyone to see, you can’t expect no one to comment on it or discuss it. That is not obsessing. If you consider something private, there’s a specific option to set your account to “Private” Posting something publicly and treating it as private at the same time is just nonsense.

Besides, I really did wonder if Bruce might have done something to his teeth, which, as a fan of his singing, worried me a bit.

That’s why I was glad to see dickinson1978’s response, and up until that “holier-than-thou comment” about privacy, I found the discussion funny and interesting.

Then maybe the tabloids would be a more appropriate venue for the "lol Leana's photoshopping is ridiculous", not the thread about Bruce Dickinson's professional work. We used to have actual and enforced rules against this stuff on the forum.

If we were discussing the prospects of him fixing his teeth, then yeah, it does relate to singing and would be valid, like Dickinson1978 did, but there was a fair bit of lolling, as it always is as soon as a pic from her IG is posted, especially on Dorothea's part. Personally, I just think it looks obvious the picture has been worked, so I'm not the least concerned about his teeth.

No, the forum rules have been changed so that you can discuss all aspects of the band members. And that’s really the only logical way to do it, because the idea that you can somehow separate aspects of a person—that a life isn’t a whole, where everything is interconnected—is really strange.
This photo and Bruce’s teeth are actually a good example of that.

"Members must refrain from discussion of band member's private life & intimate details, unless it relates to the music or official press releases." That provision is still active.

This would mean: "Man, did Bruce fix his teeth? I wonder if it would affect his singing" - OK

"LOL Liana always photoshop and filter her and Bruce's pics, it's ridiculous, why does she do this and why does Bruce go along with it!?" - Not ok.

There's a million things people can discuss freely about Bruce. The man has led a fascinating life. Defaulting to "his wife posted another badly photoshopped pic to instagram" once again, as it's done every few months, feels needlessly petty and honestly kinda weird. Bruce has enough things we can praise, and certainly more than enough of his own actions that we can criticize (his position on Brexit as an example). There are also valid criticisms to be had about Liana and her political leanings (though probably not suitable for this thread). The same posters going after Liana time and time again gives me this type of energy:

It goes beyond reasonable discussion and "it's online, so it's fair game". It comes across as obsessive and weirdly personal. Maybe we all ought to touch more grass.

Getting a good laugh at people discussing Bruce's teeth and looking up how to book him for speaking engagements, only a week after people were imagining that fans on the official website travel to Paris on the off chance of seeing Maiden recording an album.

No one wrote anything hateful or was “going after her.” It’s actually more striking why someone would perceive it that way. I’m sure that none of it was meant that way.
But I now understand which topics you personally find interesting and think are worth discussing.
I’ll stick to that in the future, I promise.

It's just that it's a collective recurring pattern here as of late the past few years, to rant about Liana and her filtered pictures. I get you didn't mean anything by it. Cheers.

The missing context is, that we have certain users who go out of their way to bring up Liana every few months and to make fun of her pictures, her photoshopping and so on. It's not really relevant to Bruce and personally I don't think it brings any value to this thread. I'd much rather talk about his music, his current band, the plans for the new album and so on.

Also, we're all just members on the forum. I don't get to tell you what you can and cannot write about. I'm not a moderator or admin. I can offer my perspective why I think certain topics fit well with the thread and why others might be "over the line" or simply off-topic. You obviously can talk about whatever topic you want, but just like the earlier mentioned "everything she posts on instagram is public and thus fair game" it's equally fair game for folks to disagree and explain why they take issue with certain posts on a public forum. Hope this clears up my position on the matter.

A thread about the greatest metal frontman of all time still going at his age after throat cancer and it is regularly dragged down to cheap laughs about his personal look, his clothes or his Wife and how she looks is pathetic and has been for some time.

Maybe our avatar should be a photo of ourselves so we can have a good laugh at each other if it`s a slow news day!

Do we know when the new album will be released? After the massive disappointment of The Mandrake Project, I hope the next one is better.
It has grown on me, warts and all. It still has the sense of not being finished, but still an enjoyable record with a couple of bangers.
