Adrian Smith

Great Smith/Kotzen gig Friday night in Manchester, Adrian seemed in a laid back mood laughing and joking with the crowd. As always some amazing playing from the pair of them and the place went mad once Wasted Years cranked up. We came close to catching a pick but not quite unfortunately.

They seem to use a similar spoken word tour intro to Bruce's MP tour one (named Invaders, iirc). They also use the same official recording company. Let's hope both solo projects release live shows or at least some videos.

That`s a shame.I have to be honest the Manchester crowd did seem to only come to life properly for Wasted Years although some singing and clapping for the new stuff in particular did happen and at one point Adrian commented `that you seemed to like that one` and looked happy with a positive reaction.

As much as I like Wasted Years, I would have preferred H to play another of his Maiden songs instead.

It is somewhat funny that both You Can't Save Me and Wasted Years were also the non-Smith/Kotzen songs they played on the 2022 tour!

It's a wow yeah. I was curious and read the thread and one person mentions that Richie seemed unhappy with Adrian's mistakes, during Wasted Years too. Mistakes? Adrian having some ''issues'' with it again, I noticed he plays the intro riff with some pauses.

Yes, a little change from the previous tour would have been nice. But I guess they need a very popular song/cover and they can do it because of Adrian (Reach Out would fit for Maiden fans). Not sure if Richie likes it (Bruno certainly does), but both playing their own stuff is fair.
 
Just on the way home from the Smith/Kotzen gig. It was phenomenal! The musicianship was off the charts.

It was a full of guests from the Maiden camp. @GhostofCain and I spotted Bruce, his wife, Adrian’s wife and daughters, Shacky and Nicky Campbell. I even had a chat with Noel Fitzpatrick (The SuperVet!)

I had to leave early due to trains, and missed Bruce coming on to sing Wasted Years! Ah well.

Right back at you! It was great to finally meet up and occasionally rip on Bruce! That being said, it was great to see him there supporting Adrian. I don’t think he has been back in the UK for long after recording his album.

Hat! Happy to see Bruce agreed to play with SK. The downtuning is curious and noticeable, Bruce sounds very solid and this isn't after 2 hours of singing beforehand. This should be right after the recordings of his solo album.
 
I skipped this tour but the London show looked pretty special. He got Nicko to play WY on the previous one. Maybe Steve will do it if S/K do a 3rd tour.
