So the book has an error?
I know that. The vintage Strat style bridge that was installed after is probably a Kahler. Kahler also did some non-locking Strat bridges and I think one of those is on guitar now or it was swapped back to original bridge since retirement of the guitar. I highly doubt that the original production Fender Strat bridge is on the guitar. Tremolo arm is also not something that you can get from Fender. The Kossoff strat never had a Kahler, but it did have a Rockinger system installed for the first part of the World Slavery Tour. It was removed before the tour ended. The headstock still shows the holes drilled for the locking nut.
I believe the book is wrong on this.

The bootleg has been on YT for at least 12 years now:Dave looked so cool with his black Strat. By the way, the video was uploaded only eleven days ago.
I've never seen a non-locking Kahler bridge that looks exactly like a Standard Fender 6 point Vintage Tremolo, I seriously doubt they ever produced one. Also, the standard tremolo arm from a Kahler 2300 series tremolo fits into a regular strat's tremolo without modifications (I have one in my Strat in fact). I'm pretty sure the one in Dave's Kossoff is either the original, or some aftermarket one that's identical (visually) to the original bridge.I know that. At least in the late 80's I think the Kossoff had some non-locking version of an aftermarket bridge with brass parts IIRC. Could have been swapped back since.
Then, it's indeed a mistake. But I remember vivirdly that Kossoff had a vintage Fender type trenolo with brass saddles at some point in the late 80s and an extra long tremolo arm, that is still on the guitar.I've never seen a non-locking Kahler bridge that looks exactly like a Standard Fender 6 point Vintage Tremolo, I seriously doubt they ever produced one. Here's a 1989 Kahler Catalogue for anyone who's interested in taking a gander.
Thanks for the photo. I had a very strong suspicion that the Kossof didn't have a stock trem in the early 80's.Here is the Kossoff strat with what looks to be some weird aftermarket bridge saddles in early 80's.

Could it be a Charvel bridge? Like the one Van Halen mounted on the Frankenstrat for the cover of the first album.
Yeah, it looks like that. A Charvel brass bridge. One of these maybe?![]()
Nice, I also didn’t know that Janick’s sunburst Fender was tuned to DADGAD last year during Time Machine, as Alan Sosa said, I’ve always thought it was drop-D.Rig rundown for Jan and Dave is out. It seems like the Hicks Strat is gonna be mass produced next year...
Yeah, interesting that Time Machine is in Kashmir DADGAD.Nice, I also didn’t know that Janick’s sunburst Fender was tuned to DADGAD last year during Time Machine, as Alan Sosa said, I’ve always thought it was drop-D.
Also, what happened to Eddie Marsh, why isn’t he Jan’s tech anymore?
P.S: It’s also nice to hear that the Hicks Strat it’s gonna be produced, if so, is there any possibility that they do a lefty model? I’m lefty and I would like this guitar!
I was going to say: I love how someone is sound checking the Powerslave interlude and Fear of the Dark while Colin is talking but I guess they were filming Janick's side at the same timeRig rundown for Jan and Dave is out. It seems like the Hicks Strat is gonna be mass produced next year...

Eddie Marsh is drumming with a band currently as far as I know.
What's better is that whoever it is is playing FOTD in major key.I was going to say: I love how someone is sound checking the Powerslave interlude and Fear of the Dark while Colin is talking but I guess they were filming Janick's side at the same time
If they were filming both videos at the same time it was probably Alan Sosa playing FOTD (as seen in the video) and possibly Sean Brady playing Powerslave as a soundcheck .I was going to say: I love how someone is sound checking the Powerslave interlude and Fear of the Dark while Colin is talking but I guess they were filming Janick's side at the same time
All that playing was the same guy. I think it was Alan. Adrian's cabs are much closer. If they were filming both videos at the same time it was probably Alan Sosa playing FOTD (as seen in the video) and possibly Sean Brady playing Powerslave as a soundcheck .
Enjoying the LightWhat's better is that whoever it is is playing FOTD in major key.
Very nice to finally see Janick's rig, for the last tour was only Adrian. Dave still carry the cream Strat, but is now a deep backup (like the birthday Strat). It wasn't even presented. I wonder if he, besides Adrian ofc, can bring something different/new for next year or in the future.Rig rundown for Jan and Dave is out.
