In defense of Montségur's chorus

Can't understand Maiden fans being triggered by a melody. It's Maiden FFS, what else did you expect other than melodies?

Sometimes you like it sometimes not. I dont like montsegur happy chorus thats all. It happens to me with sea of madness too. Ruins the song

Yes, "Running Wild" in particular comes to mind.

SOM has a "happy" verse and "sad" chorus if you mean major and minor harmonies

Is not about sad or happy is about an intro for jumping and headbanging and then a really soft chorus. I dont like the song when bruce start to sing. I think they could have done better with that great intro

yes it was jarring when I first heard it in 2003 but I really like it. The fact Maiden can pull off the immense contrast in moods is quite something. I like the interpretation of the mocking tone by the way.

Another weird chorus in a good song. When the river runs deep. When the song ask for going high they go down. For sure that song singed by 83 85 bruce would go high in the second chorus
