Maiden related YouTube channels

Long Distance Trooper
I see there are some really great Maiden related content all over the Youtube, so I decided to put them in one place. If you guys are aware of more such contents, you can share here. Cheers!

Gotta say our friend @Ad_Astra has been doing great work!

Thanks for sharing, Siddharth! From the MaidenCartoons channel, I found the TNTOTB cartoon to be particularly clever.
Yes, by the very talented, our own @Val Andrade !

Rubbish. I’ve tried this channel and find cap Harris massively irritating plus think she talks a load of shit too.

Bit of an extreme reaction no? Each to their own but I admire their dedication to vlogging multiple Maiden concerts and I think their earnest enthusiasm for the band is cute. Plus, they're pretty much the only ones who vlog the Titanium Tart gigs.

Not really, it was just an opinion. Just find her and some of the guys on the channel very irritating. I watched her review of the run for your lives tour and it was just a complete pile of shit talk to me.

I rember her from the official FC forum when I used to post there. She was part of a crowd on that forum who always seemed to come off a tad elitist, like they were more special fans than anyone else because they have nothing else to with their lives other than follow maiden around and talk about Maiden all the time.

I agree with the above in general especially over the last few years when they really have flown the flag for Maiden. I always thought their enthusiasm for the band and the way they must have exposed them to so many more people of a much younger age group was fantastic for a group like Maiden who have never had that much mainstream support.

This is the issue with them now, they really seemed to be way wide of the mark with their first night gig review. I mean the comment she made about `turning away from the stage and wanting to cry during Rime because of the possible AI` seems a bit over the top to me.

I think the whole Nicko love in they have due to being known to him in recent years is now colouring their view on Maiden with Simon, the recent Titanium Tart vlog they did was night and day in terms of positive compared to the Maiden stuff from this tour.

You've nailed it. It is rarely about how much a fan loves the band, or how much the much the music has meant to them. It may be the relative absence of other meaningful things going on in their lives, which artificially elevates Maiden to being the sole dominant thing.

There are some really nice people I've gotten to know like this, and all the power to them, so I'm not criticising fans like this collectively.

But there are also the elitist ones, as you mentioned, who approach liking Maiden as if its competition. Thankfully, I find elitist fans are relatively few and far between and can easily be avoided.

The Capn Harris thing is harmless but a weird grafting of 2020s youtube reaction / travel experience vlogging culture onto a band from the 1970s. A pretty incongruous fit.

Metal Pilgrim is also harmless superficiality in my book, he's like an excited puppy, so totally inconsequential and not really worth watching. The only one that connects with me is Licks of the Beast, which is more cerebral.

Agree with this too. Thankfully elitist fans are a lot fewer in numbers and I’ve also met some really cool people who’ve dedicated their lives to Maiden. Ok so I still find it a bit strange when someone has so little going on in their life that they dedicate their lives to listening and following maiden but, there if that’s what gets some people through the day and they aren’t being elitist pricks then it’s all good and not for me to tell someone how to live their life.

Maybe if you made your living as an artist like she does you would feel the same way. I think it is a completely understandable reaction.

Graphic designers, painters, copywriters, authors... all are having their livelihoods replaced by shitty algorithmically generated crap made by machine learning models that are illegally trained on the work of other actual artists without their consent. It's literally taking money from the hands of creative people and giving it to dipshit tech bro oligarch billionare con-men who are just profiting off of their work instead.

To see that utter dog shite on a Maiden stage is depressing and it makes me want to cry too.

I don`t make my living that way so that probably explains me looking at it as a Metal concert and show first and foremost. I feel for anyone who goes to see a gig of one of their favourite bands and feels like they need to cry in disgust. I maintain that there is more to it in terms of the way they have reacted to the new tour which is completely out of line with their normal, and i have to say my view.

Although AI might be illegal in how it`s used , i don`t have the knowledge you do on it, i can assure you that many peoples livelihoods have been taken away in the fields i work in over the recent decades. Computing and automation of machinery to name the two biggest , these are now accepted as the norm.

Really surprised at the strong negative reactions in this thread.

We're all posting multi-paragraph opinions about Iron Maiden YouTubers on an Iron Maiden fan forum- I don't really think any of us are in a position to question how much of a focus Iron Maiden is in anyone else's life

Would we not all go to more gigs if we had the time and money to do so? I love channels like this, because when work and other obligations prevent me from travelling, I can still experience part of the excitement thanks to them.

Fair enough if their views differ from your own, everyone is entitled to their opinion (full disclosure- I happen to agree with them) ...but I really don't think it's that surprising how they feel, given that they live in the same state as Nicko and have something of a history with him (vlogging many of the TT shows, RnRR parties, meeting him at Drum One, etc. etc.)

Actually yes, there is scale along which a Maiden's fans life is dominated by Maiden and associated activities alone. Not judging anyone, and it probably changes over time as well (my peak Maiden fan obsession - to the relative exclusion of other things - was probably 1995 - 2008 ish...).

I personally think the Capn Harris thing is quite naff, not to my taste at all. But great for those who are into viewing the world through people's eyes. So all the power to them and those who like their endless hours of footage...

Full disclosure, i completely disagree with their (and your) opinion on the screens but that`s what opinions are all about. This tour more than any seems to have brought extreme views across the board from both sides on various points i would say.

I guess for them Nicko rather than leg 2 next year of this Maiden tour will be their focus if they hate it that much.
