RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I think Steve is just a bit loose with the time signature more than anything, I think they play the same amount of repetitions as on the album it's just he might be adding more beats to some bars before changing chords.

Loose enough to make the quiet section more than a minute longer it originally was!

I think so, on the album isn't it they play the section once, then on the second repetition Bruce speaks, then on the 3rd Adrian plays the echo part, and then on the 4th the build up, they aren't doing any more than that are they?

Keyboard for Hallowed's intro! Can you share a video in which is audible enough?
It's quite difficult to pick out as it was low in the mix. You can kinda hear it at the very very opening second of this before the crowd gets going, but then it's lost.

It could even be an overtone or something blended in with the gong sample, but I'm sure it's new.

So having had a few days to take in the West Ham gig... (WAAAAY up at the back, but hey...)

Firstly I was blown away by the band's performance especially Simon on the drums. Enjoyed the setlist but you always want something more- Lemmy always said he didn't like playing some Motorhead songs but that it wasn't about him, it's what the fans wanted. So if the band are a bit NPFTD averse thousands of fans would like to hear tracks from that album.

I, like many others, would like to have heard 'Infinite Dreams', Public Enema Number One' or 'Die With Your Boots On' or a 'never played before' track- 'Only The Good Die Young' as a set closer maybe.

As well as being a celebration of 50 years, it being the London gig I thought we might've had some 'guest stars', Nicko perhaps getting a walk on. I was lucky to chat to Blaze at a gig in Southampton and he said he hasn't been included in any part of the tour which is sad- makes me think that they're doing to him what Priest have seemingly done with Ripper.... Also, a montage on the screen of former band members and 'back office' staff would've been nice- Clive Burr, Paul Dianno, Dennis Stratton, Martin Birch, Derek Riggs etc...

And yes, Steve was emotional with the gig being at his team's home ground but Hammers fans I know really don't like the place other than the fact you can get more fans in- Upton Park it aint! And couldn't just for once we'd have heard Steve say a few words? Something along the lines of how he can't believe what a force a band he formed in East London 50 years ago had become and a big thank you to the fans?

The stuff on the screens was great, especially during ROTAM. Maybe put the visuals out on a DVD extra with the studio versions of each song?

And, maybe just me, I don't like synths on songs that didn't have them on the studio albums, yes I'm referring to you 'Powerslave'! And I know they've done it before with that track and even back in '88 they had them on 'Still Life'. I'm not a fan of keyboards anyway and yes, I know what Bruce said at the NEC but I didn't take his advice and carried on listening to Maiden!

Anyway, that's it, COYI! (And from a Charlton fan that's hard to write!)

1, Because Steve (according with that interview…they play what they want. Don't what the fans expects. Anyway Killers is full of excellent tracks.
2. Never. They didn't play it in 81 and since then they use the tape. They're too lazy to play it. Or maybe there's a contract issue with Paul Samson. I don't know

They use Ides of March tape and later they also use the beginning of Murders on tape. Shame.

But it's the same when they play Aces High. They've never played the beginning. Another tape
1. Agreed, Killers is indeed full of excellent tracks.
2. Nothing to do with being lazy. It was meant to be an intro tape, to play before the band hits the stage

@BludBrutha has done the analysis:

As far as I am concerned, I thought there was no need to make the song longer than the studio version in 2012-2014 and my opinion has not changed.

So it's the same way they played it in 2012, if I understand correctly. I thought it felt a little different to the studio version.

Maybe on paper, but man what a perfect song to end with. In 2023 there were a few shows where I got tears in my eyes with the event shirts on the screens throughout the song. That felt like a thank you and a farewell from the band.

And in Helsinki this the year people around me went crazy during the song, jumping and singing more than they did during Hills and Fear.

For some songs you have to be there to understand the appeal.
I get it, and I've gotten to hear Wasted Years as a closer 5 times and enjoyed every one for similar reasons.

It sounds kinda crazy to say in 2025 because this wouldn't have been the case even ten years ago, but I actually wouldn't mind if they brought back Running Free or Sanctuary as closers.
