I couldn't disagree more. Aces Low was dogshit for the whole of this tour and the whole of the 2nd Legacy tour, but this is acceptable. It’s a good thing the video of the dog fight is so distracting, because vocally that’s dog shit.

Agree with your sentiment although i`ve only just started to actually post so trying not to give up just yet! This. I have to say I don't enjoy logging onto Maidenfans as much as I used to. Maiden is by far my favorite band and though they are not perfect it's hard for me to be critical of them. I have my exceptions, of course (the 90's for one). Yes, they are past their prime but I think they still sound great all things considered. I accept them for where they are now (after 50 years, my God) and I'm not selfish or entitled enough to think they should all perform like they did in their heyday or they're "shit, lazy, etc"...
Any seasoned professional could handle it but they chose not to go down that route for various reasons. You're missing my point - he is handling the pressure and doing extremely well. What I was implying is that, until a musician is put into a specific situation (in this case playing drums in a heavy metal sextet, one of the biggest bands on the planet, with a notoriously loyal fan base) you don't know how they're going to react. Maybe your drummer friends would fall completely apart in that situation - maybe they'd thrive and control the adrenaline and produce an amazing performance.
I thought the first verse and the choruses were fine tbhIt’s a good thing the video of the dog fight is so distracting, because vocally that’s dog shit.
That's what happens every tour cycle when people throw around expletetives, going a bit doom-and-gloom which creates a sour mood, when many just want to talk about how excited they are about seeing their favorite band again, and perhaps for the first or final time. It leads to a degree of posting exodus. Some stuff certainly is valid criticism, but how things are said and how many times the same thing gets repeated does matter. It’s a shame to hear that you don’t like coming here as much anymore. I can be critical of the band. It’s because I hold them to high standards and sometimes I think they make some head scratching decisions.
However it does not stop me from enjoying their gigs and rocking out!
I don't see the problem as long as somebody isn't being a relentless sourpuss going out of their way to dampen the enthusiasm of others. Some want to share their excitement, some cast a more critical eye over things. Surely room for both. If you want blanket positivty with no room for dissent you might be better off trying the IMFC boards.
Let's not do straw man arguments, please. That is not what I said. Some stuff certainly is valid criticism, but how things are said and how many times the same thing gets repeated does matter.

Even I am positive and nice over there these days.I guess things have not changed there since I stopped being a member!
Where do I sign up?I know where to go next to spread the gospel of Virtual XI. They'll welcome me with open arms, we'll break bread, drink wine, and sing "Amigos, no more tears" arm in arm.

I'm not pointing at you specifically, just to make that clear, but this is a decade and a half old phenomenon on this board. It never fails.
These two issues right here. Not saying everyone has to match my level of fandom for the band. Having a different opinion than mine is fine. If that weren't the case I would have blocked @GhostofCain years agoI don't see the problem as long as somebody isn't being a relentless sourpuss going out of their way to dampen the enthusiasm of others. Even the Rock in Rio show released in 2002 was edited too much in an unnecessary way. They could choose a less bad version of the song, edit some parts in the studio and release it.This is a version of Aces that is acceptable for a live album,
Fixed it for you!I know where to go next to spread the gospel of Virtual XI. They'll welcome me with open arms, we'll break bread, drink wine, and sing "Amigos,no more tearsno more cheese " arm in arm.
Well if people will keep asking him the same stupid question ...Like arrives once every year, so does Bruce's unneccessary yapping.
That's not quite what Bruce said - he said that Clive "had incredible feel, and you can't learn that" (Mick Wall 2001) and that Simon also has "got that feel", ie a particular quality which Bruce really valued in Clive. So they have this one important quality in common: it's not quite the same as saying that "Simon sounds like Clive".Bruce seems to think he sounds like Clive.
This is the quote I was remembering:That's not quite what Bruce said - he said that Clive "had incredible feel, and you can't learn that" (Mick Wall 2001) and that Simon also has "got that feel", ie a particular quality which Bruce really valued in Clive.
