RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I thought there was a point made about it being for this tour or year, didn’t realise he was a permanent live drummer
My best guess is they were being conservative with the initial announcement, saying he was the drummer for 2025 and going no further with the announcement. It's likely that 2025 is as far as his contract went, with an option to extend if all things worked out during 2025 (fan acceptance, performance, stamina, etc.).

Now that Bruce is calling him their drummer onstage, saying Simon will be back and so on, that more or less confirms they've decided to keep him on at least into 2026, if not permanently. Whether he's still considered a live fill-in for Nicko or a full-on member, that's still very much up to speculation. Only the band knows at this point.

Band was on great form apart from a few minor snafus (again, is it really Maiden if they don't fudge a couple of things). Crowd in Front Standing was passionate with a small subset being absolutely insufferable and inconsiderate of those around them which was a bother but otherwise a great night.

And I daresay Bruce's best performance of Aces High in some time, he did very well with it IMO. PROPER gave it a little extra and it showed.

There were definitely a couple of emotional moments where you could tell each member of the band was taking in the moment. A standard show in a lot of ways but clearly special to the boys.

I woke up early, it’s too hot so I am sharing my thoughts.

Pros
  • I thought the band were on fine form. There were a few fluffs and technical glitches, but they recovered well.
  • The setlist is mostly excellent. It has a nice flow.
  • The song of the night was Powerslave. It was so heavy!
  • My other highlights were The Clairvoyant, Phantom, Murders, Rime and 7th Son.
  • If the last tour was a ‘Smith Showcase’, this show was a ‘Monument to Murray’. He was incredible all night. I think we often forget how good he really is.
Cons
  • My mate said I did not look impressed during Hallowed or Aces High. Bruce just can’t sing them anymore. He needs to swallow his pride and choose easier songs. He was straining more on Rime than I thought he would too.
The weather was great and I had a fun day with my friends.

P.s. I recommend that everyone should wear good quality earplugs. I have custom moulded ones from work and they just make everything quieter and more audible. Plus I can hear this morning!

To me, Steve is channeling a bit of Gene Simmons or Blackie Lawless here. Or maybe it's just a photo taken at a random moment.

I take it that Nicko didn't play anything and didn't come on stage.
And wasn't in London either? He mentioned wanting to meet members of The Bands of HM Royal Marines in London again.

Woke up still buzzing from the concert. The band were in fine form and they definitely have a few years left in the tank

A couple of flubs and technical issues but even Aces High sounded alright being swept up in the moment - I wore my NPFTD T Shirt in protest ;)

Highlights were Powerslave and SSOASS. I did feel a wave of emotion a few times which also happened to me seeing them on the TFP tour, still something very special about this band to me even when I am nearing 40

We were about 10 rows back from the front/back barrier, Jan’s side, the sound was pretty good for a stadium. The crowd were mixed enthusiasm but they seemed to be enjoying it in their own way.

There was the biggest and most enthusiastic mosh pit I have seen at a maiden gig, started from the trooper until wasted years i think

outside an the excellent gig we made the normal pilgrimage to the Cart and Horses and then went to Eddie’s Dive Bar twice, it was much nicer for the second time post-gig sitting with a beer.

Fucking hell, it was hot yesterday.

Also, has Steve had his teeth done? They seemed to be brilliant white :D
