Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

@matic22

I have a question regarding Janick purposefully using the in between/position 2 during
the verses of The Clairvoyant
this tour:

Do we know if his Strats are wired to split the humbuckers in the in-between positions, or are they just running both pickups in parallel with each other? Or is this way too nerdy for anyone to know other than Janick and his tech lol
That's basically impossible to know as he is playing with gain ath that point. My guess would be 2 full humbuckers and he is switching just so the notes are clearer.

I’m wondering what this ‘new’ pedal is on the right of Adrian’s pedalboard? Volume pedal? Expression pedal?

If it’s a volume pedal (or expression pedal for volume), I thought maybe it is for middle section of Rime, doing the volume swells?

Looks like an expression for volume indeed. Maybe it's a solution to minimize the feedback from the silver Lado (it's feeding back a bit occasionally).

What kind of pickups is Adrian using in his Les Paul during this time (1980 to 1981)? They obviously are not the Super Distortion/Mini-Humbucker combo that he used from NOTB onwards.

Those are DiMarzio Soapbar Super Distortions, a black one in bridge and a silver one in neck position. After that the neck pickup was replaced with the mini humbucker and bridge pickup with a white DiMarzio Super Distortion (then it got a black DiMarzio SD in bridge, during Piece of Mind iirc.)

Yup. And the guitar came out of the factory with 2 mini humbuckers.

Wow. I never heard of the Soapbar versions of Super Distortions. They look like parts from my granny's old fridge.

Anyone knows what happened to Adrian’s 8432 proto Jackson? I know that he stopped using it after TBOS but I don’t know where it went after that, he used another ebony/white guard model as the warmup guitar during TFPT but I don’t think it’s the same guitar, anyone knows? Thanks.

Ironically I just saw it’s not on the stage on the most recent show (Stockholm)…

Davey’s rig now using Synergy modules… I wonder if back up, or integrated part of his main sound? Photo taken from Colins Instagram

Ok... A few interesting things from the video.... The Destroyer was broken on tour in the 80's. He knocked the bottom part off. The stripe is covering the crack now. Also it was in a flood. Confirmed by Adrian again.

Silver Lado is his main guitar. And it has a nickname. The Grey Lady.

Guitars in the vid shown are:

Ibanez Destroyer II
Lado Earth Silverburst "The Grey Lady"
Lado Earth Black
2016 Custom Shop Jackson AS Green Sunburst
Jackson AS 2MTM guitar "The Hooligan"
8431 2007 AS Jackson Prototype
2016-2017 Les Paul Classic (He calls it a Standard, but it's a Classiic)
