RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

They'd sooner go the Helloween route and team up with Blaze as well than either scrapping Aces, or tuning down.
The monkey's paw curls: Instead you're getting a Manowar and/or Kiss (that really used to be a thing for a while, huh?) situation, with Nicko and Simon playing on two sets simultaneously.

What I thought they could do is to put Aces earlier in the set, maybe before all Powerslave songs to work like a transition during the main set, and then put something like 666 opening the encore. Still, I know that probably won't happen...

1. Rime
2. Powerslave/Phantom
4. Hallowed
5. Seventh Son
I don't know about Rime, the visuals distract me and I find them awful. I also don't like the Phantom stair thing (probably AI too), but the sound is perfect.
Hallowed is too fast for Bruce nowadays and also the visuals aren't great. (except the part that he's being chased by death, that's awesome)
SSOASS is my no2, I think. WY and FOTD visuals are awesome too.
Powerslave visuals are just so simple and yet effective.
IMO it's something like: 1. Powerslave, 2. SSOASS, 3. WY, 4. Phantom and then 5. FOTD.
The worst ones performance wise are Murders and Aces imho and I also don't like the Aces visuals.
Everything is subjective, but some Rime visuals are objectively bad and I don't know how they decided that this is OK. Otherwise, I really like the performance.

Thinking about it, if H brought out the Les Paul Goldtop ad the 1986 Jackson Superstrat, he would play almost all of the guitars from the 80's on tour. He could've also gone period correct with the guitars (with the exception of drop D songs)...

1. Murders In A Rue Morgue - Les Paul Goldtop
2. Wrathchild - Les Paul Goldtop
3. Killers - Les Paul Goldtop
4. Phantom Of The Opera - Les Paul Goldtop
5. The Number Of The Beast - Ibanez Destroyer in drop D
6. The Clairvoyant - 8431 Jackson Signature prototype
7. Powerslave - Lado Earth Silverburst
8. 2 Minutes To Midnight - 2MTM Jackson
9. Rime Of The Acient Mariner - Lado Earth Silverburst
10. Run To The Hills - 8431 Jackson Signature prototype in drop D or Ibanez Destroyer in drop D
11. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son - 1986 Jackson Superstrat
12. The Trooper - Les Paul Goldtop or Lado Earth Silverburst or 1986 Jackson Superstrat
13. Hallowed Be Thy Name - Les Paul Goldtop or Lado Earth Silverburst or 1986 Jackson Superstrat
14. Iron Maiden - Ibanez Destroyer in drop D
15. Aces Mid-Height - Lado Earth Silverburst
16. Fear Of The Dark - 8431 Jackson Signature prototype in drop D or Les Paul Goldtop in drop D
17. Wasted Years - 1986 Jackson Superstrat

So, we are 2 guitars away from H going full on 80's guitars showcase on this tour. And both of those are in working condition (they both appeared on En Vivo). I have a feeling that the Goldtop might come out during UK shows...

Simon improved the drum roll intro from previous shows. I think it sounds better.

Murders in the Rue Morgue wasn't exactly on the top of my wishlist for this tour, although I was quite sure that it'll be the opener, and that's fine, I like the song... but damn, I really like how it rolls here! Bruce has a bit.... crunchier approach to it now when compared to e.g 2005 and I think it works fairly well. Of course it's not a vocal acrobatics kind of a song to begin with, but all the more reason, I think it works quite well.

Less than a week for the Helsinki show :dancinggeek:

The full show from 6/9 at Royal Arene is up on YouTube and the band sounds absolutely tremendous. I mean locked in like a machine. And Bruce sounds phenomenal this show.

Re Simon's intro on "Murders," I've heard it enough times to know its absolutely a deliberate choice. I'm used to it now. He's really settling in now and playing some really nice stuff.

Re backing tracks...I doubt it. There are parts played offstage by the keyboardist (I don't know if its still Michael Kenney, forgive me) but there are still enough flubs that tell me that's Maiden performs 100% live. Bruce having issues hearing while up on the platform behind the drums or Adrian's occasional frustrations where he'll stop playing til they get back in.

Brent Diamond is playing keys and triggering samples (Powerslave is a good example). There is a string synth on bridges and then there are Bruce's original vocals triggered by keyboard during choruses.

Did Bruce hint at the end that they might do Europe again next year? Possibly Copenhell?
Yes, he said 51st anniv. I would say it makes sense that this tour would be 2 years, 3 year-tours would be too much now - and tbh, I can't see which song/s they could change for a potential 3rd leg. All ideas for the show are locked in. Plus, Bruce has promised a big 2026 tour (assume including the big European festivals) and we are on a normal course for a new album. The next Hits tour could be Part 2 of RFYL.

edit: why not, the current tour shows that they have no ideas (since they ignore the 90's and the rare songs) for more History/Hits tours. Plus, they would skip the Blaze era, like No Prayer now, and it would be a Reunion celebration. Which would be popular enough and they have 6 albums to choose from, but maybe not after a new album tour. Hybrid between a new album and the Reunion era would be odd, but they could do it: 5 new songs, 4-5 classics (can't drop them) and 5-6 Reunion era songs. I assume it's the most likely. Reunion tour with classics (and deep cuts) will be like 2010 again.... but if it follows a proper new album tour, it would be possible for a next Hits tour. I just hope there won't be a 3rd leg of the current tour with 2-3 changes. There should be a reason why this tour is only the first 9 (8) albums. Otherwise, what, more of the same?

Powerslave is the highlight of this tour. The more videos I see, the more confident I am.
As songs: Killers, Phantom, Powersalve, Rime and Seventh Son.

As stage presentation: Powersalve. Then Murders, Wrathchild, Wasted Years, Seventh Son... Hallowed and Rime are cool in their own way.

Btw, after hearing Murders again, I'm really starting to rediscover the song. I listen to it more often now. Such a fast banger.
