RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

--swap out Aces and Wasted Years and the complains would definitely be less, even if it was Tailgunner, FOTD and Running Free

It's not that I'd be against it (for obvious reasons), but I wonder how big percentage of the ticket holders would actually be willing to trade Aces High for Tailgunner? Could be many, I don't know, but this kind of brings us back to the reason behind No Prayer's lack of live representation in general: almost all, if not ALL of its potential setlist inclusions have a superior equivalents in the earlier, and perhaps even later catalogue.

So as much as I'd love to hear some of those No Prayer tracks, it's kind of easy to see why they're not being brought upfront. Bring Your Daughter could be an exception that makes the rule, but given the pace of the set and sheer amount of songs, it seems that they didn't want to put in many extended sing-along, jam & crwod interaction moments.

I suppose that's why Running Free didn't make it either, eventually. And frankly, I might even prefer Wasted Years on its place. :)

Sorry for repeating this point constantly, but I just find it a bit too odd how Wasted Years as a closer is suddenly so "last season" although it still hasn't been played on that spot nearly as often (or densely) as some other classic closers. :D Run to the Hills has been a closer many times, including a couple of times in a row for different tours and basically nobody expressed it being particularly boring & lazy move when it was considered as a locked show closer for this tour since the tour announcement.

Ok I get that there's an obligation for playing Run to the Hills anyway, where as Wasted Years could've been technically left out, but as a purely personal opinion, its inclusion doesn't really bother me at the slightest. I gladly take it instead of Sanctuary, for example.

Sorry in advance, but I’m gonna curse now. Fuck. Fuck, fuck! What the fuck! Ha ha! Just watched 46 minutes of the first Budapest show—oh boy, it was so good! It was great. Aside from Murders, every other song was a highlight for me. Wrathchild, Killers, Phantom, 666, The Clairvoyant, and Powerslave—all so intense, and those big screen visuals definitely add to the experience. 666 might’ve been a bit too visually distracting, but overall, it’s fantastic.

And hey, maybe the “random” order isn’t so random—Clairvoyant deals with death, and then right after, Powerslave explores how the Pharaoh handles it. Those visuals near the end of Powerslave, where the camera zooms in on Eddie’s head, felt like a representation of Death—just stunning. The loud synths really elevate the whole thing too. Goosebumps!!

Bruce sounded so good on Powerslave—it’s such a comfortable range for him. And I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed The Clairvoyant—great vocals there too. Honestly, I think this might be the best Maiden show in ages. Only minus: no big Eddie. But it’s like we were all stuck in some lethargic sleep and this show just snapped us out of it.

The band sounds fresh and on fire. Guitars are crushing—Adrian and Dave are absolute gods. And Simon is solid as hell. I came up with this thought while watching: I’ve missed that extra oomph in Maiden shows lately, and it’s 100% back when they’re playing the older material. They sound like a metal band again. I feel like they mellowed out too much in recent years, and now, going back to the old songs, they’re fierce and fucking Iron Maiden again—at least in my opinion.

Also, I’m really digging that metallic tinge in the drum sound I’m hearing. No disrespect to Nicko, but Simon seems to have added more power to the overall sound—or maybe I’m just too enthusiastic.

Once again—FUCK! It’s so damn great seeing Iron Maiden absolutely kick ass. I’m happy right now.

Just heard Aces High from night 2, Bruce is being downright tortured man. They can't possibly hear it and think they've made a good choice. I'd try to swap it with TNOTB or something like that since we know they won't change it. They've done it before with The Talisman in 2011, for example.

I haven't really formed an opinion on the setlist yet, apart from the heat of the moment during the live reveal.

Honestly, the only bombshell they had was playing three '80s epics. If they thought 'Killers' was supposed to play the same role that 'SIASL' had for FPT, that was quite a disappointment.

All in all, swapping 'Aces High' and 'TNOTB' for 'Infinite Dreams' and 'NPFTD' would make it perfect.

From the main set I would switch 2 minutes with Still Life or Sea of Madness. From the encore I would replace Aces Low with To Tame a Land or Infinite Dreams and Wasted Years with Running Free.

Word, it's almost like saying Nicko was holding them back. It's also a slap in the face that the man who originally played drums on those tracks didn't get to play them live.
The last tour literally had half the set feature a live debut or a song that hadn't been done in 20+ years. It's not like stuff like Only the Good Die Young or Sun & Steel were kept out of the sets because of Nicko.
