TREASURE ISLAND - New Maiden Album (June 6)

A Swedish metal music FB page posted as April Fool's that Maiden are inviting Blaze Bayley on to sing some songs with the band on the upcoming tour. My heart sank in light of that this is people's idea of a joke when it's something that bloody well should happen.

All For One
(Smith/Dickinson) • 6:57

The circle is unbroken, and the candle still burns
We’d ride the tides to a thousand holy nocturnes
Called up all the sinners, called upon the saints
To leave a life of misery, no ruins and no restraints

In a world of miracles and ancient mysteries
We ran as one before time took up its keys
Now the lantern still beckons and the tale is not yet done
We still heed the spirits, the story has just begun

All for one and one for all
Until the final hour, until all the stars fall
Oath-bound creatures rising from the sea
And our world is still fast turning

We felt the mountains shake, and a rumbling in the plains
The beasts were rising but we lived another day
Torn asunder but we still believed
The hills are alive still with the magic we received

In a world of madness, in a world of decay
Six frozen statues still glimpse another day
The wars are long since over, the battles are all but won
Still we spin the wheels, the story is never done

All for one and one for all
Until the final hour, until all the stars fall
Oath-bound creatures rising from the sea
And our world is still fast turning
And the sun is still burning

All for one and one for all
Until the final hour, until all the stars fall
Oath-bound creatures rising from the sea
And our world is still fast turning

All for one and one for all
Until the final hour, until all the stars fall
Oath-bound creatures rising from the sea
And our world is still fast turning
And the sun is still burning
And the circle is unbroken

Libertas
(Smith/Dickinson/Harris) • 8:34

From my shackles I see a setting sun
By the dawn I’ll see an empire falling
Take up your weapons, the end has begun
Take up your swords, can’t you hear me calling?

Cast off your burdens and cast aside your tears
Throw away your troubles, and recant all your fears
The tide is changing, the battle is turning fast
Take hold of your future before you slip into the past

We fight for freedom
We fight for freedom

Nameless was I
Now for one brief moment I have a voice
In a battle so wide
Prepared to split kings in two
Rebel and proud
Not content to die a slave
We will rise up and live as free men again

We will bring an empire to its knees
Abandoning those who heard not our pleas
Stand fast against those who brought the chains
Now the heroes will lead us to victory again

We fight for freedom
We fight for freedom

We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom
We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom

We lived for the days when we could call ourselves free
Now by the banks of the river, we make our final stand

Souls lay weeping, the sky is seeping
With blood red tears of pain
Gnashing of teeth and cries of despair
Ring out through all the terrain
The valley of death, lining the shore
A warning to those who rebel
Crucified shall be your fate
Sending you back down to hell

We fight for freedom
We fight for freedom

We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom
We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom
We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom
We fight for freedom… freedom… freedom

The Call Of The Wild
(Gers/Harris) • 8:17

Have you ever seen the wind?
Have you felt it upon your face?
Do you ever wonder why
It lingers without any trace?

Have you ever embraced the world?
Wandered where you don’t belong?
Will you ever be coming back?
Have you heard the siren’s song?

Over fields, the meadows and lakes
Wandering over long-running streams
I’ve been to a secret place
No one else has ever seen

From the depths of the wild woods
To the edge of the forests of green
I’ve wandered through time and space
To see what I have seen

Do you believe what they say is true?
Do you believe what is happening to you?
Do you believe the things that are real?
Do you believe the things that you feel?

I’ve seen the eclipse, I’ve seen the storm
I’ve heard echoes of the cries forlorn
All the lives I’ve lived, too many to count
Dreams I have seen, no one knows about

I run with the call of the wild
Like a wayward soul, left on his own
After living a life in the sun
My journey has just begun

Do you believe what they say is true?
Do you believe what is happening to you?
Do you believe the things that are real?
Do you believe the things that you feel?

I’ve heard the call of the wild
I’ve heard it calling my name
I’ve heard the call of the wild
And I cannot stay

I’ve heard the call of the wild
I’ve heard it calling me on
I’ve heard the call of the wild
And my journey has just begun

Do you believe what they say is true?
Do you believe what is happening to you?
Do you believe the things that are real?
Do you believe the things that you feel?

I’ve heard the call of the wild
I’ve heard it calling my name
I’ve heard the call of the wild
And I cannot stay

I’ve heard the call of the wild
I’ve heard it calling me on
I’ve heard the call of the wild
And my journey has just begun

Silent Guns
(Smith/Dickinson) • 5:46

The engines roar, the bombs erupt in flame
An easy target, the killings go on again
A wounded warrior balanced in the sky
Your number’s up, now it’s time to die

He looks the enemy dead in the eye
But the guns are silent

Over killing fields, the ground looms deep below
Across enemy lands, there’s nowhere left to go
Winged salvation from the war-torn fray
To fly a new tomorrow, to live another day

Deep in the heat of the war
But the guns are silent

Enemies shed their masks
To risk it upon the line
Flying brethren heed the call
Greeted with silent guns

Escorted from the depths of hell
Saved from burning skies
The call of the air goes before you all
And the guns are silent

Hallowed Ground
(McBrain/Smith/Harris) • 6:31

You feel the wind in your hair, you see the flickering lights
The anticipation races long through this holy night
You’ve run the tests, done your paces
Now the time has come
Over hallowed ground your machine will run

There’s a storm rolling in just hours from touching ground
And before it hits upon us you will have already heard victory’s sound
Who are you in the face of a sea of gods?
To run the race and still come out, beating all the odds

The time has come, the lights are fading fast
Now it’s pedal to the metal, make this moment last
Still the world turns ‘round
You’re standing on hallowed ground

Feel the adrenaline racing through your soul
See the finish line, it’s your whole life’s goal
The voices cry out but not a word you hear
You’re all revved up and ready to shift right through the gears

The time has come, the lights are fading fast
Now it’s your time to ride, make this moment last
Still the world turns ‘round
You’re standing on hallowed ground

See the red light shining up ahead
Once you see the green, there is no stopping you

You’re standing on hallowed ground
You’re standing on hallowed ground

White Whales
(Harris) • 12:45

Put out to sea in the early morn
Anchors raised, sails untorn
Didn’t see coming the titanic storm
That broke upon me, a soul forlorn

Wasted time wandering through
Looking upon the ocean blue
For that which scarred me, tore me in two
Left my mind shattered, left me to rue

The skies were all calm, the sails were furled
Another day’s harvest, silent all the world
Peace was my friend, horizons wide
Had no glimpse of the monsters that hide

Suddenly awakened, to my horror and amaze
And anger that tore like flesh set ablaze
Pain and misfortune are all that I see
The harrowing evil that ripped right through me

Every waking hour, I see a mocking grin
Leering at me, beckoning my soul from within
If murder makes a man mad, then mad I must be
The waves carry a madness that is my sea

I can see a billowing white
In my head every second, every day, every night
To rid this evil, for that I hoist the sails
I must kill my white whales

I have become obsessed
With something that has done me wrong
Cannot let go of this anger
Cannot let go of the pain

I take my life in my hands
I wash my hands of the matter
This matter that drives me on
Would shatter many a soul not worth living

And the great blue shroud of the sea
Rolled on as it rolled through the centuries

I ignore all of the warnings
They stand in my way
There is a hell to pay
The hunt carries on and on and on

And the great blue shroud of the sea
Rolled on as it rolled through the centuries
And from Hell’s heart I stab at thee
To purify the evil that’s within me

And the great blue shroud of the sea
Rolled on as it rolled through the centuries
And from Hell’s heart I stab at thee
To purify the evil that’s within me

My last act will forever be
To rid my life of the scourge that defies me
I know that to kill I sail
I must destroy my white whales

Only death can be my cure
Can save my twisted mind from despair
I have lost myself to my obsession
And thus I give up the spear
And thus I give up my breath

Children Of The Stars
(Harris) • 4:47

I look up at the stars and wonder if you can take me there
To the edge of Mars, beyond the life that we once cared
See the edge of time glimmering beyond the world
A lonely satellite still spinning out beyond the earth

Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars

A weary wanderer who’s given up his soul
I’ll take you far away, we’ll see where my ship can go
A distant speck of dust, we’ll leave the earth behind
To dance on cobweb galaxies that we might find

Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars

Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars

Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars
Children of the stars

The Wind In The Willows
(Harris) • 12:29

The wind in the willows sang softly to me
Follow your heart wherever it leads
I looked for the silence, the silence I freed
And found only the voice of the river

The wind in the willows sang softly to me
Come to my side, and I’ll set you free
I wandered through forests, and sailed through seas
But the wind was still one step ahead of me

Sailing down the river
Sailing down the river

I walked along the shoreside and saw what there was
A message in the water I saw
The ripples, the tide line, blown by the wind
And the willows rustled within

And I turned from the river, walked through the woods
The darkness was coming down fast
My thoughts were frightened, my fears had grown
But the wind kept me on the straight path

And as I looked all around at the world of my own
And all the people who walked just like me
It made me saddened to think of the gloom
The suffering all around that I see

So I sailed down the river
Sailing down the river
Sailing down the river

And the wind in the willows sang unto me
Calling me close to its side
So I followed the wind ‘til the river met the sea
And freely I ran to its side

And the sea blew me off course, somewhere I’d never seen
And we left the willows far behind
But the wind guided me, brought me to sights
I never before could find

And the wind in the willows called me back home
And I came in out from the sea
Lonely wayfarer searching for the shore
And the willows were beckoning me

The wind in the willows called unto me
And I heard them speak my name
And I followed the wind ‘til the willows greeted me
And I saw the river once more

So I lit the lights once more and the wanderlust subdued
And the winter set down on us all
And the death brought new life, new life unto me
And springtime was about to fall

So I sat by the fire and warmed my toes
And drank in the spirits of the hour
And the memories that filled me, days with old friends
I relived them all once more

And I sat there in peace, all the evils did cease
And quietly I fell fast asleep
And dreamed of the river, the shore and the sea
And the wind in the willows and me

Sailing down the river
Sailing down the river
Sailing down the river
Sailing down the river
