The Smashing Pumpkins
1. Mayonaise
2. Siva
3. Ava Adore
4. Stand Inside Your Love
5. Soma
6. Obscured
7. Snail
8. Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
9. Geek USA
10. X.Y.U.

This one was tough because they have so many interesting textures, and I find it hard to prioritize their best vs most interesting. I also mentally tie some songs together (Porcelina/Ruby, Crush/Suffer/Snail, Soma/Geek USA/Mayonaise). Even though Billy Corgan is a nut job, this band deserves credit for trying to push boundaries every album imo.

Not a Smashing Pumpkins fan outside of their big hits, but now you got me curious — if you were going to group together those songs, what would your list look like then?
Well now it’ll look like I’m cheating by sneaking some songs on but the way TSP styles their albums, some textures just kind of run into each other and intensifies the dynamic. That’s why I love Gish — each song flows pretty perfectly into one another. I was able to separate Mayonaise from Soma/Geek just because that’s just obviously their best song.

1. Mayonaise
2. Crush/Suffer/Snail
3. Siva
4. Ava Adore
5. Porcelina of the Vast Oceans/Thru the Eyes of Ruby
6. Stand Inside Your Love
7. Soma/Geek USA
8. Obscured
9. X.Y.U.
10. Save Your Tears

I wish I could showcase their shoegazey side (1979/This Time/Try Try Try/Perfect) since I actually think it’s their biggest strength (as much as I love the grunge metal, the cinematic mix of hard guitar and shoegaze, and the out-of-the-box tunes, they’re definitely messier).
