That’s fair. I suppose the songwriter in me is not great at separating the two once I’ve heard the intent, however.

I don't care much about personal interpretations myself because I feel like the message that the artist intended to be transmitted through each song should always come first. I usually do some research on the lyrics and try to get as close as possible to the original interpretation before I can fully process and interpret them by myself, but I don't mind people interpreting stuff differently. If anything, it's fun to see how the same song can have dozens of different meanings for each individual.

I heard the Sabaton version of the song first, so I never really put that together until listening closer to Priest's version.
