Only because I've heard Man In The Box a billion times on the radio.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to differentiate him from any of the other crooning, radio rock vocalists.

I agree with you on the grunge thing but not this one. Layne Staley's voice was unique and only reason why you wouldn't be able to differentiate him would be the fact that so many rock vocalists try to imitate his style. I haven't heard a more passionate vocalist than him.
