Which is the sleeper hit on the album for you?

The first ten listens or so, TFF was just a decent first song, but it have really grown on me. The toned down rock with accustics guitars just seem to get me going more and mnore. Definitly not excpected to grow, rather the reverse, from me=)

For me is the Alchemist, on the first listens I thought it was just a filler, but with some more listens, I know see the great chorus, and the rhytm in the song

Since ths thread is about sleeper hits (songs that don't grab you at first listen), i'd have to say....El Dorado. Yeah i know we've had that song for months but listening it from the actual cd in full force i found it to be a mighty fine Iron Maiden rocker, kind of like how NPFTD songs would be if Smith had stayed. It is heavy, has a great rythym and it is quite enjoyable and a nice break from the melancholy that prevails in the TFF .

I start to like El Dorado more and more.

The rest I liked straight from the beginning, apart from a certain track about a boat trip.

Starblind's taken a kicking in some reviews, but it's lodged in my head alongside Mother of Mercy right now. Only The Alchemist seems weak to me now I've listened to the album about fifteen times!

It's slowly dawning on me that I've been waiting 22 years for this album...

Yeah for me its the worst. But that's kinda like saying that Tatum was the worst Globetrotter!

El Dorado was an instant love for me even though the quality wasn't as good as it is on the cd and yes I love it more having seen Steve's face when he played it live but I cant call it a sleeper hit. Strange to see the different ones we're all picking.

Yeah it is quite strange, since , for example, i find starblind to be a mega masterpiece. :)

I actually don't have any sleeper hits yet. But that stuff takes some time for me. For example, The Fugitive was a throw-away from FOTD for a while, now it's a song I listen to regularly. The same goes for Judgement of Heaven. After listening to TXF for weeks I didn't really care for the song - it's not mentioned among my favourites in the "general album ratings" thread, but now it is.

It seems I have one of those on many albums. On DoD it is (wait for it) Gates of Tomorrow, on AMOLAD it is The Legacy. Not that I didn't like The Legacy from the start, but it wouldn't be in my top half from that album. Now it is the song I listen to most frequently from AMOLAD (besides Brighter Than A Thousand Suns).

The Man Who Would Be King went from "worst Maiden song of the reunion" to possibly my favorite song on here after a good 10 spins.  Fantastic song and one that should be pointed to folks saying this album is nothing more than more of the same.

Yeah I think a lot of fans are digging this now. Liked it initially but LOVING it now. Probably my third favourite on the record now. Davey is on fire on it.

And I'm all about the Isle of Avalon.

I'm down for that. The more I listen to the record, now, the higher this song seems to go. My first listen I didn't really get it. I need to sit down and decipher the lyrics. I have a very strong grounding in Celtic myth and history from university and it's going to be fun to figure out what Steve is talking about here.

Although I already have an idea or two.

I think its El Dorado. After the first few listens it was just a 'normal' song for me. Now when I hear all the awkward guital melodies and the powerful rhytm, I reckon it as one of the best tunes from Maiden. And when I saw the live version from Dallas, then it was just WOW! Instant classic!

The Man Who Would Be King. Starblind is monstrously fantastic as Isle Of Avalon. Indeed, a masterpiece of an album.
