Which is the sleeper hit on the album for you?

Greetings all! Most of you may know me as Perkins10's Cousin.

Talisman is my favorite, but I gotta say The Man Who Would Be King surprised the hell out of me!

Welcome Perkins!!!How have you been?

The only song that could be the sleeper hit is TMWWBK.I'm still waiting for it to grow on me though.

I honestly love Coming Home. Didn't think I would, but damn, THAT SOLO. It's just, sublime.

Also, I really like The Talisman

yh, i agree. Sat15...TFF was in my opinion just a bit standard at first listen but now with my player on shuffle when i hear satellite 15 start up a littlevoice in my head goes  :rocker: HELL YEAH!!!    and the intro which i originally thought was too long, repetitive and didnt contribute much i love. it really builds an atmosphere and makes me anticipate the start of the final frontier even more... Really good IMO

other mentionsfrom me, coming home and talisman (more instant hits formebut needed a mention  ;))

I would say Starblind for the simple fact that it still hasn't clicked with me yet. I've heard so many people say it's awesome and the like, so I got no doubt at some point soon, the track is going to come on, and blow me out of my seat the way so many epic Maiden predocessors have done so in the past, and I can't wait.

A sleeper hit I would consider a song that for me took a while to warm up to.  I didn't think the song was bad, just inaccessible, if that makes sense.  In that case, 'The Talisman' is my sleeper hit. I'm loving it more and more.  Love the quiet build up and the exploding guitars.  Kind of reminds me of 'Ghost of the Navigator'.

So there I was minding my own business having a pint with Mother of Mercy and Where the Wild Wind Blows, when who walks in and slaps me on the back of the head?
The Talisman. This one for me is the sleeper hit. It didn't grab me on first listen, not even third or fourth but last night on the way home from work it started playing straight away and WOW!!! Loving this!! From the acoustic melodic beginning to the inevitable kick off of JOY!  :edmetal: Well played sirs!
I agree with you 100%!  It really builds up.  Bruce puts so much emotion into that one. And, the lyrics are stellar.  Next to Wild Wind, it's my favorite song on the album.

To be honest, the whole album was a sleeper for me. I listened to El Dorado first and thought it was very catchy and a decent song, but hoped the rest of the album would be better, then I listened to the title track and thought "this is ok, but what else is there?" and when I finished listening to them, only Starblind and Talisman stood out. Then I re-listened to them all and I now honestly believe that this is the best album possibly since No Prayer (which has really grown on me, I don't care what people say about it  <_<) but more likely the best album since SSOASS. That's how much I rate the album, I really do think it is up there with the "Golden Age" stuff. It is quite different but it has so many layers to it that it's impossible to take it all in, even in 3 or 4 listens... I will probably still be learning more about it in a year's time.

I think to sum it up, this is the first album since SSOASS (another album which took time to sink in) on which I love every single track.

If I was absolutely forced to pick one, it would be The Alchemist. It was ok on the first few listens, but then it hit me on about the 4th listen that it was an excellent song.
