I had a quick search to see if this had been done before and didnt find anything recent.
Im interested to see the results though im sure the 80's will probably take it. Personally though i disagree and find the 2000's to contain more substance and more emotion on average across songs, everything seems more together and i connect with it more.
either way i wonder if therell be any surprises. ive included TFF with 00's even though its technically 10's but hey it was conceived in 09 (wasnt it? )

plus i have a hunch this could be connected to age so ifyou could please post your age (or if your shy your decade  ;))
personally im 16, so the 00's is the era ive grown into maiden at.  :D

I can't think of what decade I like at the moment so I'll think about.

I prefer the 80's which I voted for, followed very very very closely by the 00's, and most of the 90's.

no love for the 90's yet but im glad to see the 2000's doing so well
(better than i anticipated)

I will take the 3 "best" songs from the 90s, over the "best" 3 songs from the 00s anytime, anyplace.

Lol, I said 5 earlier, but now I am doubting this.  :D

Kinda overkill, don'yathink?

The 80s have produced most of my favourite songs. The 90s have produced its share of classic songs as well, but it has also produced more songs I don't like than the 80s have - in fewer albums. ("Don't like" should be read as "don't like as much as other Maiden songs"). In the 2000s I think there are a fair share of very good songs as well, but the best part of the 6-man incarnation of the band is their consistency - both live and in songwriting. The only negativity I can find is that some songs from these last 4 albums seem to rely on older stuff, the band repeats themselves a bit (but I think others have bigger issues with that than I have).

The 80s win.

The 80s by a pretty large margin.  It's been great to experience their revival in the 00s but overall the material isn't quite as strong.

I thought about this a bit, and... I don't prefer any decade over another. I like them all.

Well duh.

80's>00's>90's.

I simply love, with all my heart, a hell of a lot of the 00's. But you can't compare recent material to the classics, there's just something about that. I mean, the feel notalgic to me, and I wasn't around till FotD. And I was definitely not listening to Maiden when I was in the womb.

Should've been though.

That's my opinion, too. I voted for 80's due to the string of classic, seminal albums, and specially 'cos it was when I discovered Maiden, then 00's for becoming the best live band in the galaxy and releasing 3 classic albums out of 4, but in the 90's, they made one of my all time fave albums in The X Factor and, they formed in the 1975, and were already dominating back then. So, it's all eras for me, since the 70's.
