What cover song would you like to hear as the next b-side?

Travis The Dragon

AFTERGLOW!!!
Pretend Maiden held a contest and the winner gets to choose their next song to cover for a b-side. What would you pick? Of course, I choose Deep Purple's Child In Time.

Something not Metal. Something really far removed from what they are known for.

Bob Dylan - The Lonesome Death of Hatti Carrol
Interpol - A Time to be small
Belle & Sebastian - Sleep Around the Clock
Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

I mean seriously, all of those songs are good songs that sound nothing like Maiden. That being said I imagine Maiden could have a very interesting take on any of those songs as well as countless other none metal songs.

Please, they should never ever ever ever play that song. Most overplayed and over-rated rock song ever. Yes, even more than Smoke on the Water and Stairway to Heaven - those two are still bearable to listen to.

I agree with the Rush sentiments - its the one major band that influenced Steve that they have yet to cover. I'm not sure Bruce would really suit Geddy vocals though, so whichever song they play would sound quite a bit different. Although, thinking about it, I can imagine Bruce singing Tom Sawyer or Working Man quite well.

Your right!!! But picture it played like 90's maiden, raspy and raw.

Run To The Hills (Live Version) - we certainly haven't had enough of it! :D

The Darkness - Love is Only a Feeling

I'd like to see Adrian's take on one of those solos and hear Bruce work the falsetto...

well la villa strangiato is an instrumental so they dont need to worry about that as for journey that would be a terrible cover even if it was a bside it would still be a sellout

Ah yes, I realise La Villa Strangiato is an instrumental, but Anthem isn't ;).

The Darkness? Where has the taste gone these days? Why don't we just go straight to suggesting Queen rather than a (very rubbish) rip-off of Queen?
Princes of the Universe would be a cool cover :D.

Very interesting...  :)

Let's see :
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida could be interesting, keys to be replaced by a guitar as was flute in Cross Eyed Mary.
Machine Gun (Hendrix) would be just great, though it could require some more rehearsals from the Amigos!
Stargazer would be great as well, plus an homage to Dio, as above regarding the rehearsals...

The Darkness - Love is Only a Feeling

Why should a band formed in 1975, that has it's place in top10 rock bands list, cover a band that was formed in 2000 and are crappy copycats?

I'm still waiting to hear their version of Thin Lizzy's 'Don't Believe A Word', reportedly recorded during the AMOLAD sessions, along with ZZ Top's 'Tush'.

I wonder why those 2 tracks never surfaced (apart from the snippet of 'Tush' on 'The making of...' AMOLAD dvd)?

Because they would be having a laugh.
