It was a close battle between X and K for me, and I ultimately went with X. I just like it a little better, at least today; ask me next week, it might be the other way around.

Ѫ.
Now sadly gone, and replaced by that Ъ impostor, it used to represent a sound ("uh", more or less) that, pronounced the right way, and with confidence, could get you through an entire evening of conversation in Bulgarian without anyone even realizing you're not a native speaker, or even that you might know nothing of the language at all.
Some examples:
Ѫѫ: yes. Ѫ-ѫ: no. Ѫѫѫ: not sure really. Ѫ (rising): pleasant surprise. Ѫ (falling): unpleasant surprise. Ѫѫѫѫ: wossname, tip of my tongue. Ѫ-ѫ-ѫ: 18+

^ On second thought, it might well get you through an evening of conversation in English as well.

Reported for Anglocentrism due to 26 letter limit and anti-metal bias due to lack of umlauts.
XD This is the best post in this thread by far, though the Letter of Marque is a close second.
