Weakest Song from each Iron Maiden album

any song mentioning dinosaurs is cool though

Personally, it’s the anachronism that I take issue with lyrically. Too many Flintstones reruns airing when that verse was penned I’d wager.

Also, some of the notes Bruce hits in that song make sound like he sung it all sarcastically.

Iron Maiden: Strange World (great song but it goes on a bit)
Killers: Innocent Exile (hard to choose between this and Another Life. Still a great song)
The Number of the Beast: Gangland (very hard to choose between this and Invaders but both are still great)
Piece of Mind: Quest for Fire (just not a good song)
Powerslave: The Duellists (good song but it's just a bit boring)
Somewhere In Time: Déjà Vu (great song, it's just the weakest on the album)
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son: There no weak tracks in my opinion.
No Prayer For the Dying: Hooks In You (don't like the lyrics)
Fear of the Dark: Weekend Warrior (bad song and bad lyrics)
The X Factor: Look For the Truth (good song, it's just not as good as the rest of the album)
Virtual XI: The Angel and the Gambler (good material but it's just way too long)
Brave New World: The Fallen Angel (found it hard to choose between this and The Thin Line Between Love and Hate but both are great songs)
Dance of Death: Age of Innocence (not a fan of the lyrics)
A Matter of Life and Death: Lord of Light (good song but it's just the worst on the album. That's it)
The Final Frontier: Starblind (same reason as Lord of Light)
The Book of Souls: Shadows of the Valley (it was hard to choose between this and Man of Sorrows. It just goes on and on but it's still a good song.)

Change "worst" to "least favorite". ;)
It doesnt' mean that I don't like these songs, they're just my least favorites on the albums.

Yes. I don't get the hype at all. One of Maiden's worst epics as far as I'm concerned. The lyrics are interesting but they are far overshadowed by the poor riffage and excessive overuse of the interlude riffs and the non verse sections. It's all too clear how it's a poor adaption of a piano chord pumping style song.

Edit: I still like the intro, although it's poorly played and midisequenced. I even had it playing when me and my wife walked down the isle. But as a whole song, it's a swing and a miss. Could've been a decent 7 minute song though.

Empire of the Clouds is a paradoxal tune. When it isn't Maiden at all, it works well. When it is Maiden, it's a bunch of out of context riffs put together with poor arrangement.

The intro sends shivers down my spine every time.
Bruce dramatic vocal lines gives it a melancholic feeling which I like very much.
And then the part starting from 8:35 (later on a Black Sabbath riff) And the quicker part after the solo's (around 10:30)
There's alot great stuff in this song but to each his own offcourse. ;)
