Watches

Hey, nice thread! I didn't know this one existed... anyway, I wear watches every day and my biggest passions are: Maiden, guitars and watches, so I would like to resurrect this thread with my two best watches! :)

I have a Longines but I rarely wear it, I wear an Apple Watch Ultra 3 sometimes changing straps as per occasion. I also have a Hamilton.

If one day I receive that bonus, I may buy an Omega Speedmaster or an IWC, just for the heck of it. In any case not a Rolex.

Watches are fine objects but their use are more cosmetic /status indicators than functional. Smart /sport watches are the real deal today.

Speaking of which, after Apple Watch 3 let me down (800m off out of 42.2km) during my last marathon, I’m considering to buy the Garmin Fenix 8 or the much more affordable (almost by x4) Coros Pace 4.

Don't really have a large collection or anything but my favourite watch that I wear on a daily basis is a Sonata watch, from the parent company of Titan, which itself is a part of the Tata group of companies. Gifted to me by my mom back in 2012.

Another one is a Tommy Hilfiger watch which, again was gifted to my mother but she gave it to me.

I wear both of them alternately. One week Sonata, another this one.

One more watch, which was gifted to me by my students as a Birthday gift. I have yet to wear it!

I haven't worn a watch in years, but to not rely so much on my smartphone I think I'll start again. I have a Victorinox or whatever the Swiss Army ones are called and a Fossil. They just need new batteries, might get that done in the next few days or before the semester starts.

No need a watch for reading the time. Buy a smart /sport watch and thank me later.
It’s amazing how it will connect you with your body and will lead you to a healthier life.

I still wear the watch my then-girlfriend / now wife got me in 2001.
It's not exactly the same as the one below - mine has the word Tango near the bottom and does not say 'Swiss Made' - but this is the closest likeness I could find.

Raymond Weil always make fine looking watches, and you've got a nice one. And they are one of the very few premium Swiss brands not part of the Swatch company conglomerate, which is cool. I had a second-hand RW once, which I then gifted to dad one christmas.

Yes but the Swatch Group were (and are) the fighters of good, a beautiful landmark in the history of business and so being part of the Group is more pride than sell out.

Curious to see if there will be any response to the smart watch phenomenon, the way Swatch was for Quartz though a possible trend which already happening will be people to wear two watches, one mechanical status watch and one smart watch.
