USA Politics

Trump only cares about peace if he can make himself look good.
Just like Trump happily bombed Iran, attacks boats in the Atlantic, or sends ICE to snatch people from the streets to make him look tough.
He is friends with dictators because it makes him look important.
He brags about taking dementia tests because he thinks it makes him look smart.

The ONLY thing that man cares about is himself. How he looks and how he can make himself more money.
It's so obvious that it actually feels ridiculous to have to point it out. Any reasonable person can see it.

Yes. I agree with everything that you said but at least he relates peace with looking good, instead of trying to provoke a bigger war like other US hawks or our clowns in Europe.

He’s got great instincts, man. That’s why he values peace -or whatever you want to call it. But he’s too lazy, uninformed, and has the attention span of a goldfish, which make him a weak president. Which leads to disgraceful actions, like negotiating with Iran just to blindside them before Israel’s decapitation strikes.

I mean Europe generally works towards peace I think. We've not had war in Europe for a long time and normally are trying to negotiate and mediate with other countries these days. Sending troops into other countries is often seen as a absolute last resort.

The Russia Ukraine war is the big exception at the moment, but you can't just let Vlad invade whatever country he wants. If anything I think a stronger opposition to him right from the start would have saved thousands of lives. Letting him roll through Ukraine and take whatever he likes doesn't benefit anyone.

Don't forget that Europe are the masters of colonialism so sending troops to other countries was a routine not so long ago.
After the end of colonisation, the peace happened due to NATO /USA, otherwise Europe had an extremely violent history with constant wars between each other for centuries. However since 2022 two things have changed:

1. De-industrialisation of Germany. Germany lost access to cheap Russian pipeline gas and the alternative 4-times more expensive LNG from USA devastated its economy. US -Europe: 1-0. USA LNG exports have skyrocketed since the war.
2. Stated intention of USA of "division of labour" meaning US pivots to Asia and Europe deals with Russia, from now on. US -Europe: 2-0. Europeans agreed to increased the military spending to a whopping 5% of GDP sacrificing social benefits and education.

Europe has enjoyed many decades of peace under the umbrella of US and now is scared to be left alone and are constantly trying to keep US in. Militarisation of Europe looks like the solution for the economy and the boggy man Russia is necessary for people to close ranks behind very unpopular politicians and policies.
Only Germany alone pours north of USD 10 billion annually. Why? Probably more than one reasons but it helps that militarisation is the way fwd for its economy and for future politically re-capturing of EU.

Check this interview how med-sized German companies are now thriving by integrating themselves with US Military Industrial Complex, charging as much as 4 times more for the same product.

5 is as ignorant as it gets. All his words reek of pure russian propaganda. All that talk about spending money on the military instead of general well-being, etc. Man, russia isn’t some abstract boogeyman. This country is a real threat to Europe, and if Germany and all the reasonable nations don’t rearm and get serious about it, russia will surely test both them and NATO’s resolve. It’s as simple as that.

And yes, sending more arms to Ukraine purely means containing russia. As cynical as it sounds, as long as Ukraine keeps fighting, Europe remains relatively—just relatively—safe. And much more should have been done in the early years of the conflict. Gosh, Europe is still announcing its 19th package of sanctions against russia. Can’t they just implement tougher measures all at once instead of tightening the screws drop by drop?

And Trump—he’s just a narcissistic man who looks at dictators and admires them because, in his worldview, they’re “tough” guys. He openly says he likes them. He likes how subordinates obey their leaders, whether it’s in russia or China.

Honestly, after all, Bruce wasn’t that far off about the Greeks... On this forum alone, I can already count a few putin-verstehers and/or socialism lovers. Obviously, I’m just joking.
HA HA.
