But those are conservative votes that could be going towards Hillary, as she is more right-leaning than most Democrats. Probably more right than Obama too.

I'd vote for Gary Johnson if I lived in the States. I don't buy the lesser of two evils rhetoric, Hillary is just as dark as the Donald.

I agree. I understand people who are constantly bashing Trump but let's not pretend Hillary is a saint. Both are horrible candidates and both parties should get their shit together for the next elections to make sure whoever wins doesn't get re-elected.

People are talking about Trump being discriminative towards Muslims. Fair enough. But Hillary is directly responsible for fucking up Middle East. That has to count for something, surely?

I don't buy that because of how much the right hates Hillary. Yes it's true she's right leaning for a democrat, but most conservatives don't care. They wouldn't be voting for Hillary either way. They might've voted for a Republican who wasn't Trump though.

Johnson is doing best with people under 30. He is ahead of Trump and only 2 points behind Hillary in the last Washington Post poll in that demographic That is where he is doing best. By the time you get up to over 65 he is barely a blip.

He is fiscally conservative and socially liberal. The socially liberal part hurts him in some conservative circles

Not quite .. for the issues you mentioned. Certainly pro free market, they have not made unions a big part of their campaign, pro gay marriage, abortion, but not anti-gun (2nd Amendment) . Limited government that believe in federalism would probably best describe the ticket.

A lot of libertarians do not have a problem with private industry unions, just with public servant unions.

If I were either Hillary or Trump's campaign manager, I would lock them in a room with no cameras or microphones of any kind until the election. Hillary got herself back out there over the past few weeks and just tanked most of the lead she had post convention to draw the race back to essentially a tie and a few states that were considered locks back to really close.

Would be a good strategy if it weren't likely that the opponent would use the silence as an argument in itself and could capitalize on that, without saying anything controversial on their own ... so both Clinton and Trump have to be visible, but as little as possible - letting the opponent screw things up.

Normally yes, but the opponent (whichever one it is) would manage to fuck up that message beyond belief ... 2 horrible people and 2 horrible candidates ... they are just the worst.

We know for sure, Johnson is a hell of a lot healthier than either of them .. or probably any other President in history :)

Edit: I was trying to say that physical health is not everything, but please just forget about this post. ;)

I have a suspicion Trump will savage Hillary in the debates. Trump really has little to hide compared to Hillary, and he'll capitalise on her begrudging attitude to admit to mistakes. Trump wears his mistakes like a badge.

Trump won't stand a chance if Hillary pushes him on policy. Trump came off well in the primary debates because he could sit back while everyone else embarrassed themselves and then add his own insult to injury. This time around he won't be able to do that because there won't be anyone to hide behind.

If it turns into a mudslinging competition, then yes Trump will probably "win". Generally presidential debates don't end up that way though, they are a lot more formal than the primaries.
