Up The Gers!!!

Janick Gers is an amazing guitarist who does not get the recognition he deserves. This is may not be too popular of an opinion, but I absolutely love his style of playing and I think his solos are brilliant, I personally love speed in solos. His onstage performance is very entertaining, and he is an amazing song writer, Dance of Death, Ghost of the Navigator, Out of the Silent Planet, Dream of Mirrors, The Legacy, Lord of the Flies, Man on the Edge, The Aftermath, Look for the Truth, Janick helped in bringing these masterpieces to us. Gers brought a different style of writing and playing to the table, adding even more creativity to the band. When he joined, he changed Maiden for the better, and to that I say: Up the Gers!!  :edmetal:

His biggest strengths are mostly in writing acoustic stuff. He's pretty good at that. But on more harder, faster songs, he uses recycled riffs. But I like his acoustic stuff.

Aside for being quite a good songwriter, I think he's really excellent at playing sower leads, he actually make them very emotionall and tight. I'm not a great fan of his solos, but sometimes, when he slows down a bit, he writes some decent stuff =)

Blood Brothers - second solo. Nuff said.

No really,Janick has some great solos, actually majority reunion albums has great solos by him (Blood Brothers,Ghost Of The Navigator,Dance Of Death,No More Lies,The Legacy,BTATS,just to name a few),and of course, Virtual XI and X Factor has some classic solo`s by him.
He is really underrated I think, specially in his songwriting skills. He wrote brilliant song since he is in the band.
So to end the post,I think that over all,Janick deserves to be equally respected as a soloist, but also as a composer,as much as Dave and Adrian.

The only people that hate Janick are worn out old-timers who still think Maiden hasn't made a record since 1990. As far as I'm concerned, he brings the band energy to a higher level and simply makes the band more fun to watch.

Not to mention, he's the only member (besides Bruce) who simply dances on the stage, even while playing solos...

Janick is a better composer than Dave, To me thats just obvious.

i actually quite like the way he plays live with his solo's. even though it is not ''perfect'' to the note he still sounds amazing  :shred:  :edmetal:
