Turkey and the EU

It's as simple as that. The Turkish Government are simply trying to leech off the success of others, this will have dire consequences on the lower classes in Britain especially as a "ghetto" situation is likely to materialise in the next few years as the standard of housing and infrastructure is getting outdated.  GB and Ireland should spend their money curing their own problems before trying to solve others.

Get off your high horse. There's 25 countries in the EU, it will certainly not be the task of the UK and Ireland alone to fund Turkey.

I'm not saying it's only the UK and Ireland's funding, I'm saying that they should sort out their own problems - like centralised housing in poor areas. The fact is that if "poorer" countries join the EU, the standards of living everywhere will fall, it's the same in France and Germany and other "richer countries".

The standards of living are falling inevitably. The reason is that we had a standard that was too high to begin with. For about forty years, we lived in a way we couldn't really afford. Imagine it as a person spending all his money without caring for the fact that he won't earn as much in a couple of years. It's the same argument people in Germany use, that the Euro made everything more expensive. That is bull. The prices would have exploded any way around.

Aside from that, an unfounded demographic theory of my own says that the more countries we help to raise their living standards, the more foreign people will leave "our" countries.
