One of the highlights is probably that build-up of the main (first) solo by Tipton, but the whole song itself has great atmosphere, dramatically portrayed by Halford's haunting performance and supported by the beautiful calm riff in the couplets and the aggressive metal(!) riffs and drums in other parts. Interesting piece of trivia: The main riff was "written" by drummer Les Binks who picked up a guitar, held it upside down (because he's left handed) and suddenly played it. The band never saw him pick up a guitar before or afterwards.

The solo in this version doesn't match the awesome sound (and ending!) Tipton creates on the studio version but it's cool to watch this band being so much into it.

I just don't get Priest. Never have, don't know if I ever will. I've given these songs many a try, but they are just not to my liking.

I find the earlier stuff to be good for a fist-bumping lark, like "Breaking the Law" and "You've Got Another Thing Comin'", but otherwise, I just don't understand the appeal.

I like 80s Priest and I'm okay with 90s Priest and I can see some people don't see the appeal of them. 70s Priest, on the other hand, I absolutely love. One of the best streaks of albums ever.

Painkiller could be my favorite metal album. I like pretty much every era of Priest even though their discography is very inconsistent, but whenever they get it right it usually comes out awesome.

The only Priest album I can really say I dislike is Turbo (way too much cheesy synth) and maybe British Steel for some of the boring fillers it has. But as a whole Priest is all-around awesome.

I agree with the sentiments that Priest aren't that consistant. Although I'd say that the 70s would be the most consistant overall. Turbo isn't great but it's still got some great material on it. Priest's worst album is easily Demolition (no not because of Ripper). Painkiller is my favourite as well but I have Sin After Sin at #2 and Sad Wings at #3.

Agreed that Demolition is the worst, that album really sucks. My top three would be the same except I have SFV at #2 instead of Sin after Sin.

Demolition is painful to listen to. I agree with Eric's statements regarding Turbo and British Steel too.

To continue last thread's discussion: what the actual hell, I didn't know a Priest album called Demolition even existed, really weird. I thought you said Jugulator wrong and went to check on Wikipedia. Haven't heard Demolition, have heard Jugulator, it was almost total crap except Abductors which was a decent song.

Then you probably won't like Demolition. I like some stuff on Jugulator (especially the live cuts from it on '98 Live Meltdown) but yea, Demolition is pretty much the same style but much much worse.
