Whoever when to the Hartford show last night can you give any insight on the Tour Mercandise? Are there T-shirts that have specific images of any of the songs? How is the the tour book? Thanx.

5 or 6 different T shirts were available. (Breeg single, Album cover with tank, a skeletal soldier with Eddie in the background, camoflage and 1 or 2 others) $35-$45
Hooded Sweat Shirts, Killers hockey jersey, the football jersey were also there. $90 - $150
Canvas backpack $45
Zippo lighter $20
Various flags and poster $20 & up
Didn't really see the program up close, nor do I recall how many quid ;)

Nice stuff!

From Johnny B's diary, 17th June 2000:

  • One matter than many fans discussed with me on the day is how much cheaper the goods were at the fan club convention than at the gig the night before. It is like this. We have to have a merchandise company travel with the tour to sell the merchandise at each venue. It costs them to transport the goods and staff around so … they charge us a percentage which gets added to the price. A £12.00 shirt becomes £15.00. However the real crunch is the venue themselves. Sorry but this is where the greed comes in. The venues are not happy with just selling tickets, food and drink at a profit but charge bands …all bands big and small a percentage of their merchandise take. This can be at big venues like Earls Court as much as a whopping 33%. This means your £15 shirt has now just become £20. Obviously on more expensive items like football shirts this pushes the margins up even more. We realise many of you cannot or do not want to buy at anywhere other than at the gig. There is nothing we can do about it. If we don't pay the surcharge we are banned from selling goods at the venues.

I thought some of you may be interested to read this before they start blaming the band for the ridiculously high prices of some items...  :innocent:

Thanks Maverick. Well, I will only be able to see this tour once I think, so I am going to happily pay that money to get a trophy from it :)

They did not have tour books for this current tour, which was somewhat of a disappointment. They did however, have tour books for the Early Days tour from last year.

Yup - I looked for a tour book. Looks like Europe might get them via pictures from the American tour? I guess they didn't want to run around on a stage without fans to take pix for this tour's book beforehand. I was disappointed too. But they had more shirt designs than I would have imagined. I picked up #8 I believe it was.

I thought I would see more tables selling Maiden ware, I only saw one in Boston (I'm sure there was another on the other side). $35 for a t-shirt (I'm still wearing mine today), and they sold a bizillion of them.

There was a Breeg poster there. I don't remember seeing another one.

They had a few posters there. Not sure if any of them were official tour posters though. I picked up a hoodie with the skull and crossed guns logo, as well as a tour shirt with the album cover on the front and the Iwo Jima picture with the dead soldiers on back. I love that design.

they had some nice shirts there, most i saw were $35, saw a poster for $10, a denim jacket with the eddie w/ crossguns $125, wrist bands $10, i didnt see how much the mugs were, beanies for $35 and the programs were $20. i bought one but brought it back, it was from last years tour! i don't think its worth it for a different tour, honestly.....

i picked up a shirt with eddie on a hill by B.B.'s headstone and a wrist band

Always buy inside at a gig regardless of price, over £100 last tour (well it was my wedding day) but also guilty of buying from bootleggers outside need shirts for work

Can anyone tell me if they have any baseball hats on the American Tour? I'm looking to pick up the one with the skull & crossed guns that you could find on the Maiden webstore, and I was hoping they'd be selling 'em. Any help would be appreciated!
